  10. I tend to agree with you, though I think the ethical concerns may be more about the necessity of the operation, as I've read. Some of the concerns are that this wasn't being done as a live-saving procedure for this lady, but rather for cosmetic purposes (I'll also grant that everything I've read makes it sound as if she was VERY disfigured by her attack, and I can't imagine how terrible that must have been). I think the arguments stem from where you draw the line regarding cosmetic facial transplants. Perhaps what's acceptable will evolve over time too. My concern, even though the actual operation itself was a success, is whether her body will accept/reject the new face over the long term. What happens if it falls off in 5 yrs, if these things prove not to be permanent?
  11. Saw a link to this on the SH Forum. Someone put together a "mash-up" with Queen's Greatest Hits and 50 Cent. Check it out!
  12. About time! I think I ordered that one twice from them, unsuccessfully.
  13. Doesn't using outside material contradict the nature of an autobiography?
  14. Personally, i don't think she shoulda been banned. Might have been interesting to hear her "defend" her original post. Suprised she actually came back though...usually spammers are hit and run.
  15. I bet he's listening to King Sunny Ade...

After due deliberation with my partner, I decided to forward to you this business proposal, we want you to assist us receive the sum of Thirthy Million, United States Dollars (US$30m) into your account. This funds resulted from an over-invoiced contract awarded by us under the budget allocation to my ministry and the bill was approved for payment by the concerned ministries. The contract was executed, commissioned and the contractor was paid his actual cost of the contract. Now, we are left with the balance of us28.6m as the over invoiced amount, which we have deliberately over estimated for our own use. Please note that the law forbids civil servants to operate or own foreign accounts hence this contact, we have agreed to share the money in the following percentages: 30 for you, 60 for us 10 for tax as may be required by your government. Note that this transaction is very much free from all sorts of risk hence the business was carefully planned before it was successfully executed and we the officials involved in the deal have put many years in service to our ministry. We have been exercising patience for this privilege for so long not until the presidential announcement last week that all foreign contractors owed be paid forthwith, this will enable the presidential tax force reconcile our debt ratio with the outside world especially now that we are begging for dept forgiveness from our foreign creditors. To most of us involved in this deal its a life time blessing we cannot afford to miss. Upon indication of your interest to fully co-operate with us, a payment application/information form will be sent to you via email for completion. Note that the following information: a) bankers name and address, b) account number and account name and c) your private phone number and email address will enable us seek/secure approval of the fund from the concerned government quarters/ministries within 3-4 banking days. 17. Happy Birthday John! Best wishes for many more to follow...
  18. Personally, I find this to be the Most Useful Post in this thread!
  19. Does anybody else's "clock" on the board seem off, by about 6 hours? I checked my settings, and it is correct.
  20. Anybody watch the Texas/Texas A&M game yesterday? I did, and expected to be disappointed in my team again. Well, they lost (40-29) again, so ended their season at 5-6. BUT they played #2 Texas well! In fact, we were only down by a TD until about 2 minute to go in the game. Surprised the heck outta me. We had a redshirt freshman QB making his first ever start, and he played a gutty game. So maybe there's a glimmer of hope for next year. I think that game yesterday may have cost Vince Young any chance at the Heisman. He didn't do much at all against the nations worst pass defense. Reggie Bush seems to be the clear frontrunner.
  21. Rushing Yds - 2005 1. S. Alexander 1229 2. E. James 1116 3. W. Dunn 1094 4. O. Payne, Jr. 946 5. T. Barber 967 6. L. Tomlinson 902
  22. I just picked it up recently from yourmusic as well. I think it's a very nice recording, and I think Alessi, Berne and Taborn all make nice contributions. Well worth the money! I also have Gress' "Spin & Drift", from '01, which also includes Berne and Tom Rainey on drums, and Alessi's "This Against That" with Gress. These guys all seem to play together quite a bit on each other's recordings, and click well together.
  23. As best I can tell, if nobody is in the Chat area, that listing at the bottom goes away.
  24. The "New Messages" used to be just to the right of the "My Controls" I believe... Thanks, Jim!
  25. Arbitrator upholds T.O. suspension PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Terrell Owens' season is effectively over after an arbitrator ruled Wednesday that the Philadelphia Eagles were justified in suspending him for four games. Arbitrator Richard Bloch wrote that the Eagles clearly proved that the suspension was justified, and were within their right to pay their All-Pro receiver but not allow him to return "due to the nature of his conduct and its destructive and continuing threat to the team." The Eagles did not immediately comment after the decision was announced. "We are pleased that the arbitrator has upheld the right of a club to suspend a player for conduct detrimental to the club," said Harold Henderson, the NFL's head of labor relations. "The ruling makes clear that Terrell Owens and his agent engaged in conduct that was disruptive to the Eagles and that coach Reid's decision to suspend the player was appropriate." Bloch heard more than 13 hours of testimony last week. Owens' side argued the penalty is excessive and the Eagles' decision to deactivate him is too severe. Owens wanted to be reinstated to the Eagles or released so he can sign with another team. Owens was suspended Nov. 5 after he again criticized quarterback Donovan McNabb, called the organization "classless" and fought with former teammate Hugh Douglas, who serves as team "ambassador." Two days later, the Eagles extended the suspension to four games and told Owens not to return. The reigning conference champions are 0-3 without Owens and 4-6 overall, last in the NFC East. Owens has five years remaining on a seven-year, $48.97 million contract that he signed when he came to Philadelphia in March 2004. His problems started when he demanded a new contract after an outstanding season in which he caught 77 passes for 1,200 yards and 14 touchdowns, helping the Eagles reach the Super Bowl. With Owens, the Eagles are 17-5 over two seasons. Without him, they're 2-5, including two meaningless losses and two playoff wins.
