My copy of "Silver Cornet" arrived today and, like John, I'm really enjoying it. Very nicely done, Chuck... thank you.

No CD release?.......

I see this is due for release by Arhoolie next week: and if it's anywhere as good as his other releases then it's a "must-have". His album "Smokey Babe and his Friends" was the first blues album I ever bought - at Dobell's Record Shop in Charing X Road in the 60's. Released on Doug Dobell's 77 Records label...... ... it's terrific and was later released on CD by Arhoolie as a 'two-fer' with Herman E. Johnson.

Well done in getting an order placed....I can never get past the "use this address" page even with Google Chrome! Unfortunately for me, if CDJapan doesn't have it then neither do I!

I can't remember whether I bought your previous releases through UK Amazon, but the only one currently showing on their site is the 'Clare Fisher - Extension'.

I'm still waiting for Amazon UK to set a pre-order date for "The Giant Is Awakened", even though Amazon US has had one for 21 October for some time now. If you're reading this Jonathan can you confirm that you will be selling it through Amazon UK, please.

Thanks for the insight, Head Man! One question: when you say 'get there early' - how early for a 7:30 show? I would think 7:00 pm should be OK.

The right hand side is probably best for standard seats but you'll find that your seats will have already been allocated before you arrive. The seats to avoid are those on the left with a restricted view caused by several large pillars. You should also try to avoid being in the gangway, because the waiters run around at such a speed that you can easily be hit by them as they pass. My advice is to get there early and make sure you're happy with the seats before all the others are taken. Ask to be moved if you're not happy. Looks like it'll be a fun night; I only wish I was in London then to see it.

WPCR-27901 + WPCR-27902 Yes, I agree with that... her finest hour? I've always been happy with the sound on my Atlantic Jazz CD which contains both of these (I think), so won't be buying these re-issues. BTW, I presume everything on these two is included on my CD?

What model Arcam have you just bought, John? I have an Arcam CD73 and copy-protected CDs play fine on that ... not so for CD-Rs, they're a bit hit and miss.

I think it's been out before in Japan on Impulse.

The two Red Rodney/Ira Sullivan albums "Horizons" & "Spirit Within" originally on Elektra are both excellent as is the Chick Corea "Tones for Joan's Bones" originally on Vortex, which is the best sounding version I've heard (I think this has been discussed elsewhere on the board)

I wonder... has anyone NOT found an Atlantic release that they wanted to get? BTW releases on the various Atlantic subsidiaries also seem to be generally available. I've picked up several on Elektra Jazz and Vortex.
