    Sade

She's on Letterman tonight. I plan to watch.
  2. You should go.
  3. No longer for sale.
  4. Plays fine on my PC. I'll keep it & eventually get a multiplayer. So - no longer for sale.
  5. I'm going to see if I can play it on my PC.
  6. Thanks. I'll look around. The offer to sell stands. $35 (personal check)shipped to anyone in the U.S. or Canada with the correct player. I've had an unexpected & unwanted education today.
  7. hey jlhoots. what brand and model dvd player do you have? i converted my cheap memorex dvd player into a "universal region" disc player w/ the press of a few buttons on my remote. literally took me 30 seconds. i found the 'code' online. It's a Sony DVD/VHS. Model is SLV-D380P. Tell me where to look & what to do. I'll give it a try.
  8. Please see my addendum in "offering & looking for". Thanks!!
  9. I received an e-mail from the distributor. They won't take it back but say that it is not region coded. It plays on any American multiplayer system but not on a ntsc player (whatever that means). Apparently I have a ntsc player. If you have the player described above it'll work for you. 1st response gets it. I'm not buying a new DVD player just for this.
  10. I purchased this, but it won't play in my US DVD player. I've e-mailed the distributor to see if they'll take it back. Cost to me was $43 including shipping from Europe. Open but obviously unplayed. I'll sell it to someone for $35 (personal check only)shipped 1st class. US or Canada only. You need a DVD player that can play PAL format. Mine doesn't.
  11. I purchased this, but it won't play in my US DVD player. Suggestions?? I've e-mailed the distributor to see if they'll take it back. Cost to me was $43 including shipping from Europe. I'd sell it to someone here in the US for $35 (personal check) shipped first class. Assumes you have a DVD player that can play PAL format. Open but obviously unplayed.
  12. Great stuff indeed.
  13. John Burdett: The Godfather Of Kathmandu

  15. Stieg Larsson: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo I'm hooked. Now I'll have to read all 3.
  16. Confirmed shipping on a new copy from Newbury for $3.99 + shipping.
  17. Lee Konitz / Warne Marsh 4CD Storyville set Warne Marsh / Red Mitchell 2CD Storyville set
  18. Craig Johnson: Dark Horse
  19. Bill Dixon Firehouse 12 2 CD + DVD set BTW, I have & like that Moondoc discussed earlier.
  20. I'm beginning to think that sometimes I'm in the wrong room. Coincidentally I was just listening to Historicity & thought it was just fine. The reference to Oscar Peterson earlier in the thread eludes me. I'm no critic or writer but have enjoyed much of what I've heard of Iyer's work.
  21. Why do some get to decide who's being fooled? I'm just as smart, have listened just as long, etc. & can make up my own mind.
  22. Thanks Pete. I may go for this one. Me too!
  23. Don't do that.
  24. It's all good if you like it.
