    I like Cape Town Revisited.
  2. I got all of mine from CD Universe except Passing Ships which is still on "back order". I wonder how they decide who gets what & in what order.
  3. Try the Greg Brown tribute CD - Going Driftless. Maybe even better try some of Greg Brown's own CDs.
  4. Nice review. I was going to get it anyway.
  5. I'm certain there'll be many opinions on "the" Patton desert island session. Mine is Oh, Baby!
  6. Stanley Turrentine: That's Where It's At Shelly Manne: 2,3,4
  7. The I Want To Live soundtrack.
  8. 3 of the 4 CDs in my box set have the same sticky stuff on the playing surface. I've called "customer service" at Columbia & supposedly someone is going to call me back. Hopefully they'll replace the set, & I'll store the CDs differently.
  9. If we all go out & buy this (I did), do we then eventually get Andrew!!! & Compulsion???
  10. I have the TOCJ of Sonic Boom also. Never could find the TOCJ of The Procrastinator. So I ordered the new Conn. of Sonic Boom. $12.59 at www.cduniverse. Disclaimer - it's on backorder there, as are all of the new Conns.
  11. Will especially look forward to the 2 Higgins releases. I presume Tendery is Tenderly. BTW, what's a "Stain" doll?!?
  12. CD Universe is pretty good too, although I think their shipping is a little high.
  13. Needed as Conns., I guess: Hill: Dance With Death Cherry: Where Is Brooklyn

    Billy Harper

Byrd: I'm Trying To Get Home is good too. Not as good as A New Perspective, but still worthwhile. Recently reissued in Japan.
  15. Who still goes to "stores"? Just kidding - I guess.
  16. It's available. Got mine from Amazon. Free shipping with orders over $25.

    Clarence Penn

Heard the Michael Brecker Quintet live last night. They (Brecker, Calderazzo, Minh Doky, Rogers) exceeded my expectations. It was the playing of drummer Clarence Penn that seemed to be the major inspiration. He was phenomenal. I'm going to go back to Play Penn on Criss Cross today.

    Virginia Mayhew

She can PLAY! Nini Green & Phantoms are both well worth having. Ingrid Jensen is no slouch on trumpet as well.
  19. Midnight Minyan looks interesting (Tzadik 7174).
  20. Sometimes I just look at the covers & play 'em in my head.
  21. Far East Suite And His Mother Called Him Bill
  22. Listen to more Art Pepper too. Meets The Rhythm Section, Smack Up, The Galaxy Sessions. Ware's O.K., especially some of the DIW sessions - but Art is a whole other level (IMHO).
  23. So - now you get deleted for not using Paypal. What's that about?!?
