3 of the 4 CDs in my box set have the same sticky stuff on the playing surface. I've called "customer service" at Columbia & supposedly someone is going to call me back. Hopefully they'll replace the set, & I'll store the CDs differently.

Heard the Michael Brecker Quintet live last night. They (Brecker, Calderazzo, Minh Doky, Rogers) exceeded my expectations. It was the playing of drummer Clarence Penn that seemed to be the major inspiration. He was phenomenal. I'm going to go back to Play Penn on Criss Cross today.

She can PLAY! Nini Green & Phantoms are both well worth having. Ingrid Jensen is no slouch on trumpet as well.

Midnight Minyan looks interesting (Tzadik 7174).
