  1. Are you offering it or looking for it?
  2. Count me in for the Zeitlin in a heartbeat.
  3. Same here, I have that 3some set and recall it all being good.
  4. Allen, grace and blessings to you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
  5. Paul Kantner (RIP) and Grace Slick would urge you to be very proud of yourselves.
  6. For the kids. Led the AFL in rushing in 1962 and 1964.
  7. I'm filling in corners of the jazz collection as some opportunities arise, and doing some secondary exploring in cases where my purchase money goes to good causes presented by board members. Cherry Red is putting out some very attractive rock reissue sets and I am buying a fair number of those to upgrade my collection. I am overdue for a massive selloff but have not had bandwidth for the effort since our daughter and toddler grandson moved in (I am also still working full time plus).
  8. And Rachel Z (Nicolazzo).
  9. Yeah, might be nice to play something a second time. We have an embarrassment of riches in this day and age.
  10. And many session recordings with substandard sound quality.
  11. Also on the Patty Duke show if childhood memory serves me correctly.
  12. Chad & Jeremy were a more interesting group than obvious on the surface. Some of the Columbia material on "Of Cabbages and Kings" and "The Ark", done after their hitmaking days were over, was pretty adventurous. Interestingly, they stiffed in England, were only successful in the USA. The World Artists hits are lovely. Their first for Coumbia, "Before and After" is surprisingly sophisticated, couldn't have been easy to sing. In style and quality, seems more like a Bacharach/David song, but was actually written by Van McCoy, and is a long way (up) from "The Hustle". McCoy did a lot of good work in the 60's.
  13. Has Black Saint/Soul Note ever had a successful airplay record? I saw Roach with Harper/Bridgewater/Workman (Keystone Korner ca. 1976), and saw him with Pope/Bridgewater/Brown (Penn's Landing outdoor concert, ca. 1989), and both were great experiences. BTW, strange that "Chattahoochie Red" never made it to CD. Love "The Dream"/"It's Time" on that one.
  14. A Mosaic of the quartets with Harper would have been great. But they only do sure sellers now.
  15. Me too. He was such a great completion to that lineup. Those are great albums, grey market though they be.
  16. Just think of all the mid-60's to /early 70's Blakey that must be out there with all those fascinating lineups. The Morgan is tempting, will probably be a price-point issue for me, and I am probably leaning "no". "Live at the Lighthouse" was the fist jazz album I ever bought, so the BN configuration has sentimental appeal for me, so I would probably keep it anywasy, making the new set even more redundant for me.
  17. Price is right. I may spring for it
  18. Whole label seems to have gone LP only. Glad I scooped up the CDs several years ago when I could. Also noticed Tom Albach passed in November at 95. Albach filled the CD orders himself and would include nice surprise bonuses in the package. Very grateful he recorded this beautiful music and made it available.
  19. Strongly agree. As great as each were, I never thought they were a particularly good match on those 1961 recordings.
  20. Eligible for mine this year also, but still working!
  21. Loved his work with Charles Tolliver and his ECM album. R.I.P.
  22. It's a good album. Not utterly essential, but holds up well. This is my favorite cut, but not the only one I like. Very much akin to the one you have already.
