I love how you nailed ID'ing the horn players on #14 while totally dissing the track! I'm with you on Brecker 90% of the time, then he would throw in things like those incredible Hal Galper late 70's albums, just to mess with my head that he really could play. Same with Galper himself for that matter, how could musicians formerly so bold and creative become so bland and predictable? That's a rhetorical question BTW, I know the answers all too well.

RIP, fascinating musician, so glad to hear he was also a wonderful human being.

Go for it. I hope you have success with generating discussion. I gave up many years ago, as I put up what I thought were some fascinating albums, and by the end was getting almost nothing except a few snide comments. Shocking to me that people did not have much to say about something like "John Handy Live at Monterey" or "Jazz Contemporaries - Reasons In Tonality" (one of the greatest Strata-East albums, with Clifford Jordan, George Coleman, and Julius Watkins exploring new ground.), but there it was, or more accurately, there it wasn't.

Yep. My experience also for many decades. One of the perks of working IT.

And the day job funds the research! I know the drill well!

Great group. Litherland, to me, was a better singer than either Greenslade or (shudder) Farlowe, though Clempson was a more remarkable guitar player than Litherland. How's the sound quality? I know that musically, a lot of Montreux recordings have magic.

I ended up selling it. Yessongs is good enough for me.

And his second mistake was "singing".

Mosaic can't just do what they did 30 years ago and expect the same results. When those BN sets (Blakey, Larry Young, McLean, etc.) were coming out, that was the only way to acquire that music on CD. Since then, just about all of the titles have been released on individual CD's. Same with things like the Columbia Woody Shaw (and the CBS box set greatly trumped the Mosaic in material with the extra disc, price, sound quality, and to me, presentation), the RCA Desmond, etc.
