  1. I'm done with buying the Fantasy stuff over and over again. The SACDs are fine by me. Don't need that RVG stuff.
  2. Check this out. DJ IPOD
  3. I will check. It may be in black and white..... Think the Sphinx but with Jackie's face on it.
  4. I had it. It's bad, but what's funny is Jackie's playing is fine, but he is inserted in some weird freaking disco environment where the material just plain sucks. Not even redeemable for sampling hip hop purposes. Hilarious cover, though!
  5. I know I don't have enough time. Recently I opened a closet door to get something and I realized I had 1000+ cds packed in there, double stacked, double deep, of music I had long forgotten I had. Pathetic.
  6. Hey, ya mispelled my name when autographing it! Other than that, the music is great! Great job!
  7. Absolutely! I love my HH Scott integrated, but to hear a Decware amp or something similar would be a dream......
  8. Buenos Hermanos is one of the most beautiful albums in modern latin music. I'll have to revisit it tonight. RIP, Ibrahim - what a beautiful voice he had!
  9. My copy came in the mail over the weekend. Will listen to it today -- thanks guys!
  10. Happy birthday Lon! A day late, but best wishes!
  11. I HOPE they reissue the Live at Tokyo, if they are going to do a Mosaic Select of his studio sessions. Very, very good performances. I am on the fence about Bechet and the Chu Berry, but I am sure people on the board can nudge me over.... DEFINITELY on board for the Mulligan, Tyner, and Oliver Nelson sets!
  12. Not much, but in case you have a jones for some discounts... Borders Coupon
  13. A couple of guys bidding against one another, going nuts.......
  14. Pulled the trigger on the O'day set. I have heard a number of her individual cds, and liked them, so this was an easy decision.
  15. Jeez. Heavy reading, guys! OK, I read the latest Harry Potter. Cotton candy fluff, but more enjoyable than the book on the History of East Asia, which I am going through slooooowly.
  16. Yes, you are right, they are separate sessions on that cd.
  17. Indeed!
  18. la banda sin saxó: ← My bad, but Cachao did play with a New York City group in the early 60's. Clark Terry and two sax guys - Emilio Peñalver and Virgilio Lisama . "From Havana to New York" it's called.
  19. It's hot. Damn hot. Tarzan can't stand this kind of heat.......
  20. I think track three is from Cachao's Legendary Descarga Jam Sessions, from the late 50's.....
  21. Yes, BIG thumbs on on the Sonny Criss.
  22. THE YOUNG ONES!!!!!!! Oi!!!!!!!
