  3. Sepultura "Roots" deluxe edition -- I had to reorder it because it had been backordered for so long. Same with the Miles Davis deluxe edition.

  6. Snakey? Please explain, Lon. I think his influence lies in the expanded possibilites and the language that a jazz player can have in playing, but I don't think there will be imitators.
  7. Has North Philly gotten any better? Always used to go by it on the train and it was a sad sight to see.
  8. The quartet was fantastic! Perfect weather -- a little sound problem in the beginning, but overall, they had the audience in their hands and they played great! It is interesting to hear the evolution of the band, from Perez's confidence in his playing, to some of the best playing I have ever heard from Pattitucci -- outrageous funky beats. Wayne is still in fine form; having a lot of fun on stage.
  9. Been listening to the Jazz Crusaders box. Up to disc 4. This is NICE!!!! BTW, McMaster did a really fine job on the sound.

  12. I would pick up Enlightenment. Live at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1973, and he is on fire -- as well as his band.

  19. "Matisse: The Master" by Hillary Spurling. Volume 2 of a great art biography of one of the great 20th century artists. Well researched and well written.
  20. Not enough to make me go to the store. Especially when I can go to Amazon and get a bigger discount with free shipping over 25 bucks. 15% (minus taxes) don't cut it for me.
