It's better than the original. But the original stunk to high heaven in my opinion, so it's not exactly praise. Better how, though? Has the plot or storyline been changed? Better acting? BTW, I think John Wayne and company did a marvelous job in the original...but that's just me. Rooster Cogburn [w/Katheryn Hepburn] is better, IMHO. Better photography, better script, better cast,better direction.

The local shop owners association used to sponsor a public address system on our main shopping street. Every year, without fail, starting around the middle of November we would have what seemed like an endless repeater tape of Brenda Lee ' Rockin' Around The Xmas Tree'. One of the speakers used to be just outside my workplace and I swear it drove me round the bend big time. Thankfully one of the consequences of the economic downturn has been the demise of the pa system and with it, thank god, Ms Lee and her mindnumbing Xmas Tree.

Finally finished watching the entire Da Vinci's Inquest series. Phenomenal, one of the best shows I've had the fortune to see. Anyone who likes The Wire should make pains to grab it all. 5 stars.

Just heard the news. A great artist who will be missed. Oddly I was introduced to his music through hearing the vocal Moody's Mood For Love. Who's this Moody guy? I thought, and investigations opened up a treasure trove of great sounds. RIP Moody.

Oh man, that's a blow to the heart. Hope for the best.
