  1. Only $17.85 with the double discount (today, and today only) -- and disc #1 is definitely worth that much, all by itself. Get on it!!
  2. Word to the wise... When brousing Tower's "Blue Note" titles, don't limit yourself only to "In Stock" items (using the choices on the far left). If you only look at "In Stock" items, then "Low Stock" items aren't shown. FYI...
  3. Just spotted a "Babe's Blues - The Three Sounds" Conn, supposedly still in stock. $10.83 -- after the double discount. Not my cup of tea, but surely somebody here's lookin' for some Three Sounds. EDIT: added bold to the word "supposedly". Could just as easily be an inventory error.
  4. Maybe couw could fix her propeller-knees problem too!!!
  5. Yes. http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=U...l=A39ktk6jxekrh 42 seconds of one of the tunes can be heard here: http://www.newjazz.com (scroll down a bit, look for the album cover). Fascinating!! If I find any other audio-clips, I'll update this post.
  6. Another vote for Nature Boy. Great disc!!
  7. I agree. I don't mind text sigs, but I find pic sigs distracting, especially large pics. Actually, that bugs me way more than the particular content of Evan's current sig.
  8. Gets me there in half the time!!! EDIT: And you'd better get the FUCK out of my way too!!!! -- when I've got this particular disc going, and it's cranked!!!
  9. I'm not so hot on Byron either, but occasionally (in the right context) he's great. But I heard him live a couple years ago, and he didn't do anything for me. Still, with Moran on for the date, I'm sure I'll at least be checking out any audio-clips I can find on-line, and I'm sure I'll probably take the plunge. Anything Moran is on is bound to be interesting.
  10. If for no other reason than the sake of people who might be looking at the board from their place of employment, I'd ditch it. It certainly doesn't offend me, but it's a tiny bit over the line, IMHO. BTW, I really like b3's take on this subject. He offers his opinion, but doesn't go throwing his weight around in the process. What a classy board mod!!
  11. This place would be pretty boring without all the variety we have, and we do have quite a bit of variety. We are what we are, and as long as any one (or just a few) posters don't come in and wreck the party -- then I'd say things are pretty much "OK" just as they are. Not ideal, to be sure -- but what the hell would be an 'ideal' version of this place be like anyway???? I just did a similar search, b3, and other than that one pair of posts (in one thread, on another board) -- I couldn't find a single reference to Organissimo (the band, or these boards) that was in any way disparaging (and I skimmed through something like 20 pages of Google hits, and clicked on about 20 or 30 of them). Some days Politics rules the roost. But usually the non-political threads outnumber the political ones by 3 to 1 (or even by some wider margin). There’s a lot of shit going down in the world (has been for a couple of years), and I’d much rather have too many political discussions going on here, than none. (And those are my choices -- since it would be hard to limit the political discussions, without eliminating them completely.) Some of what you describe about this place is probably true, b3, but only in a manageable minority of the threads around here. AND, for the most part, people do pretty much keep the political banter out of the non-political forum areas. Could the place be a bit better?? – sure. Could the place be a LOT worse – that’s for damn sure. This place still kicks the old BNBB’s butt, and I’d rather hang out here than any other forum I’ve ever been on. Some people won’t agree, obviously, but that’s just the way it goes.
  12. Worked for me too. Haven't seen too many things Whittaker was in that I didn't like, come to think of it. He was great in Smoke, just to name one of many cool films he's been in.
  13. Oh, lord, no. Anything but that!!!
  14. Ain't noboby here even been to a nudist colony??
  15. Hey, this is an idea with some serious merit. Aric, I'd check your blog at least a couple times a week, for sure!!! Aric is just all right with me... ...every now and then. BETTER WHEN HIS CAPS LOCK IS STUCK ON, THOUGH.
  16. Thanks for all the suggestions, folks. Just bumping this up for the overseas crowd (through the 'overnight' hours, here in the U.S.)
  17. Pretty much what DrJ just said, goes for me too.
  18. At least it wasn't this that was Beri's Avatar...
  19. Very few people know about USOM coming out in the Fall. I would venture to say that outside of the people who read these boards, I suspect Michael hasn't told any more than one or maybe two dozen people, at most. (And then all it takes is one of those people to post the info here, or on AAJ - and suddenly a few more people know.) It wouldn't suprise me all that much that Horace didn't know. He probably should know, but it's not like it's really "public" knowledge either. (And it's still anything but 100% certain too, I suspect.)
  20. So, you're saying that Clint Eastwood doesn't have anything else better to do?? Man, that's cold!! Better hope he doesn't try to make your day!!
  21. If the Blue Note sale can really be combined with the 15% off on April 15th sale, then domestic RVG's will be like $8.30 each (if you buy enough to get the free shipping). Now that's quite a deal. Otherwise, without the 15% off too -- they're about $9.75 each -- which is a good price, to be sure -- but not really a 'great' price.
