  1. I also posted this in the recent thread on Ron Jeremy... >>>> CLICK HERE <<<<
  2. I guess this is the best thread to post this in, so here goes... >> CLICK HERE <<
  3. Saw this in the "new releases" rack at our best local chain (Streetside). Didn't get all the RVG's in earlier in March (only got three), and probably didn't get all (or maybe not any!!) of this latest batch (I haven't even looked). BUT - they sure had 20 copies of some really alwful porn music on CD.
  4. How's Eddie's health these days?? Didn't he have cancer of the mouth, or tongue, or throat - or something like that?? How's he looking?? Last I saw (at least a couple years ago, maybe 3 or 4 even), he didn't look so good -- maybe from chemo treatments at the time?? What's the story??
  5. Shit, am I ever gonna date myself by revealing this... Julian Lennon - circa the summer of '85. (Or maybe it was '84??) Only Beatles tune he did was Daytripper, as his final encore. BUT, I followed that up shortly with Stevie Ray Vaughn in the winter of early '86. (Might have seen CSN before SRV, can't remember.) Can't remember what my first REAL jazz concert was, but I saw Sun Ra and the Arkestra in early 1991. That might have been one of the first, and certainly the first really big name I ever heard perform live.
  6. Very sorry to hear this, my friend. My own mother passed away just a couple months ago, also at a relatively young age (69). My thoughts are with you today, as they will be in coming days, most definitely. I wish you and your family the very best during this difficult time.
  7. That whole "Jackie 64-66" Mosaic is just killer. The dates with Tolliver and/or Lee Morgan are amazing, as are the trumpet-less dates too (like "Right Now"). Frankly those are probably my favorite of all of Jackie's BN output (the 64-66 output). And that's saying alot, since I also love the dates with Moncur and Hutch (the piano-less dates, three of them).
  8. Sent you an e-mail Mike. I look forward to our conversation. Anyone else a member of the IAJE?? Just curious. Thanks!!
  9. Just currious. I'm a few hours away (probably late tonight) from submitting my application materials for a jazz education related job, and I was currious if anyone here happened to be a member of the IAJE?? If so, I may have a couple quick questions for you. Thanks in advance!!!
  10. People who edit their posts too damn much!!
  11. Heck, even a genius like me only counted three. So don't feel so bad, Brass-man.
  12. Monday update... Wow, my old printer just started working again. For how long, I have no idea. But I just printed a few pages, and they looked just fine.
  13. Depends on how much I like the session in question, and how badly I think the old issue sounds. In most cases, I have not upgraded. There are a few exceptions, however. Also, if the date has several alternate takes - those late 80's McMasters had the bad habit of having each alternate appear, one after another, within the original album sequence. I much prefer having all the alternates at the end of the date, so I don't end up hearing the same song twice (or three times) the first time through the CD. So, in one or maybe two cases - I have bought RVG's partially because of the alternate takes placement.
  14. Yeah, you aren't obligated to keep to your bid - if the terms have changed like that.
  15. Not the version with Joe Henderson. The only album of his that really doesn't do it for me.
  16. There were a total of 4 reactors at Chernobyl, but what shocked the heck out of me is the fact that they continued to operate the other three reactors, for many years after the first one was destroyed in the disaster. (All of them were of the same, nearly identical design too.) Absolutely unf*cking believable, but they actually ran the other reactors in the same complex, for another decade or more (hell, they may still be running now!! - for all I know). These other reactors weren't just in another part of town -- but were all connected together, in very close proximity to each other -- all part of the same complex. I'll see if I can find some more information about this, and post it later to this thread. Amazing.
  17. And here are some clips from the "extras" on the Delux DVD "Collectors Edition"... CLICK HERE
  18. I swear I read somewhere on-line that there is an expanded DVD "collectors" edition, with a several hours of extra material (beyond the "normal" extras on the "regular" DVD release). Heck, wait here while I go take a look... OK, I'm back. Here's what I found... This special edition was produced by us, and man was it a crazy amount of work. And we thought begging someone to release the DVD was hard, try actually putting the DVD together. It features everything that will be on the box set which will be in stores April 6, plus two additional DVDs packed with material specially selected for the hard-core fan. We put it all in a strangely high-quality high school yearbook. It costs a bit more than the one that will be in-stores, but it has everything you want...and maybe even more. If you want more, don't ask us, we're exhausted. We are never comfortable asking you to buy anything, but we are making an exception because we are so excited about the show finally coming out and we really want people to see it. Remember, we make nothing on this. It is truly one of those rare occurrences when something is done out of...dare we say it, love. For you, the show, the experience. We hope you enjoy it. by: Kibbles the Rocker. Special thanks to: Judd Apatow, Dave the Moderator and Andrew Cohen 1. What is the official release date for the "Freaks & Geeks" DVD? 2. What is the official release date for the "Freaks & Geeks" DVD? United States: April 6th, 2004. Canada: April 27, 2004. Limited Edition (Internet Sale Only): Ships to both U.S. and Canada the week of April 12, 2004. back to top 2. Will all the original music be included? YES!! The rights have been obtained for ALL of the songs originally found in the show. This is the main reason why the set is priced higher then some of the other DVD releases of popular TV shows. back to top 3. How many versions are there of the "Freaks & Geeks" DVD? What are the differences between them? There are two versions of the "Freaks & Geeks" DVD. "The Complete Series" and "The Deluxe Collector's Edition". "The Complete Series" is a 6-disc set with a suggested retail price of $69.98. This version boasts all 18 episodes with the original music, 28-page collectable booklet packed with photos, and over 40 hours of bonus material including a Director's cut of the Pilot episode & 29 audio commentaries by every single actor, every single writer, directors, network execs, parents of cast members, teachers in character, the musical composer and fellow fans (including yours truly!). There are also over 60 deleted scenes & outtakes, cast auditions, trailers, promos, bloopers, behind the scenes footage and much more. The "Deluxe Collector's Edition" will be available ONLY via the internet, and it includes everything on the 6-disc set, plus an additional 2 DVD's featuring even more bonus materials, as well as an 80-page foil-stamped "Yearbook" loaded with photos and memorabilia from the show. The Yearbook also features fan photos, script pages, a quiz, a letter from Paul, a Q&A with Judd, details about every show, a letter from Mr. Rosso, poetry, rock and roll lyrics, reprints of articles about the show and lots more. The 2 extra DVD's contain over 7 hours of extras, including; three live "table reads", a one-hour Q&A with Judd, Paul and the entire cast at the Museum of Television and Radio in Los Angeles, tons more auditions, deleted scenes, promos & outtakes, raw footage of some of our favorite scenes from a single camera perspective, Guidance Counselor Jeff Rosso & Feedback live in concert, the full original electronic press kit, a script that was never shot, a special music and photo gallery, surprise Easter Eggs, even more behind the scenes footage edited by Jason Segal and Martin Starr, and other things that are weird and hard to describe. According to Judd, "I assumed, for the collector's edition, that you would want everything, and that is what you will get. There are a bunch of classic scenes that we put the raw footage on the DVD. So you see a scene you like all from one angle, one performance. Some of them are amazing, like the uncut version of Bill in the closet at the make out party, and Nick dancing in the final episode. But don't worry, you will be shocked at how much stuff is on the collector's version. I think it is between eight and nine hours of stuff not including the commentaries." back to top 4. Where can I pre-order the DVD? "The Complete Series" will be sold in stores (in both the United States and Canada) and should eventually be available for pre-order at most internet sites that sell DVD's. The "Deluxe Collector's Edition" will be exclusively available on the internet as a LIMITED edition. Those who signed the "Get Freaks & Geeks On DVD" petition will have the first opportunity to buy the Collector's set. Everyone who signed the petition will be notified via email with instructions on how to purchase. If you do not receive an email and still wish to buy the Collector's Edition, you can do so here: http://www.freaksandgeeksdvd.com A credit card will be necessary to order the DVD from this link. It will ship the week of April 12. back to top 5. What Region code is the DVD? Is it available in PAL? The DVD is coded for "Region 1" only, and there is no PAL version available at this time. We are currently unable to sell the DVD directly overseas, because the music is clear for use only in North America. To clear it worldwide would have cost too much money -- which we don’t have. We are attempting to address the issue, so all international fans please email FreaksINTL@aol.com with the quantity you want. If we are able to supply you, we will contact you very soon. back to top 6. If I reserve a "Collector's Edition" now (advisable due to the limited quantities), will my credit card be charged now or when it ships? You will not be billed until the item ships in April. The website places a hold on your credit card for the amount of the DVD, which is released in 2-5 business days if you cancel your order. However, you also lose your place in line for the limited edition! back to top 7. How soon will it be before you run out of "Collector's Editions"? According to Judd: "I think we are going to give people on the petition and the web site a month or so to order it before opening it up a little wider, so I wouldn't wait too long. You never know how high the interest level will be. If you have a real situation email me and I will make sure you get one." back to top 8. What company is releasing the DVD? The DVD's will be released by Shout! Factory and DreamWorks Television. The official press release can be found here. back to top 9. When I went to pre-order my DVD, why did the domain name come up as "ShopBootlegs.com". Is this legitimate? Yes! According to Dave the Moderator's research: Sony Music is handling the distribution of the Collector's Edition DVD. The site they are using to handle the processing of the sales is shopbootlegs.com. If you check the registration of the domain, you can see that it is registered to Sony Music Entertainment. So there's nothing to worry about." Are there any foreign language tracks on the DVD, or subtitles? The episodes are closed-captioned for the hearing impaired with English subtitles. There are no subtitles for the bonus material. back to top 11) Where can I get help with issues related to the DVD? For customer service issues, please email Smfcustomer_services@sonymusic.com. 19. Yeah, last time I bought more ink cartridges, the guy at Office Depot/Max said I might be better off just buying a new printer, for the money I was about to spend on more ink for my old one. What a racket!!
  20. GREAT show. I think there were 18 espisodes total, 12 that aired, and 6 that didn't (at least not on the first time, but were later shown on cable). I've probably seen 8 or 10 of the 18, maybe 12 tops. GREAT show!!!!!

  22. Hi everybody, My printer just shot craps ("fatal head error"), about 20 minutes ago. It's a Lexmark Z52 inkjet printer, about 3 years old. The replacement ink cartridges cost a mint!! (And within the last year, I've had several people tell me I just need to get rid of the thing, and get something newer, probably cheaper, with cheaper replacement cartridges.) I've been meaning to look at better low-cost printing options for a few months now, but now I'll probably need to be buying a new printer within the next 2 to 4 days. (Probably just something I can pick up at Office Max, or some similar store, I would imagine.) Any recommendations?? Or, perhaps more as importantly -- any brands or particular models I should stay the hell away from??? Probably looking for another inkjet, I suppose - but if there are other options I should be considering, lemme know. I don't really need to have color-printing, but it seems that color is so low-cost these days, that I've never considered not having it. But (what I'm getting at), I suppose I could graduate to a low-end laser-printer, though I'm sure the startup costs would be higher. I don't print tons and tons of stuff. Maybe 100 pages per week, at the very most - and many weeks less than that (sometimes MUCH less than that). 10 or 15 pages per day seems to be about the most I ever print. Any ideas, before I make a hasty decision in a store isle, based on price, and the list of features from the outside of three or four boxes??
