  1. Yeah. Page and US Grant used to get shit faced together all the time.
  2. Yeah. Cute is more applicable for Britney Spears not someone who wants to make music that is something more than here today and gone tomorrow.
  3. Tap. Generally pretty good around here but sometimes I wonder if somebody peed in the pool if you know what I mean.
  4. Shades of Florida!!!!I voted for Clifford Brown but somebody else snatched and grabbed it. Anyway I guess Pops would be the logical choice.
  5. I think Mr. Riff Hard might actually be deceased but he's too loaded to realize it either that or somebody's propping him by shoving a brromstick up his ass or something like that.
  6. . I'm surprised he made it to 60. Page is a good study in rock and roll excess. At any rate wherever he is I hope he's enjoying himself.
  7. Wes Montgomery and Jimmy Smith and Chico Hamilton "the Dealer".
  8. It was either Miles Davis "Bitches Brew" or Pharoah Sanders "Jewels Of Thought".
  9. Check that "Freedom Suite" is available as part of an obscenely priced Rascals box set on the Rhino Handmade label.
  10. The album I was thinking of was "Freedom Suite" which appears to be OOP. However "Island of Real" can be had through CD Universe for 10.09.
  11. Stop it you're hurting me!!!
  12. One of Gibb's strongest suits when he was coaching the first time was his ability to make adjustments at halftime and I bet it won't take him very long to get up to speed. Speaking about speed I wonder how much he new about race cars before he became a NASCAR owner? Whatever he didn't know he caught on fairly quick. The man is a winner.
  13. They did a double lp which I believed also featured some of these folks.
  14. I saw Bartz when he was part of Miles Davis's group. Last night I tried to order "I've Known Rivers" through CD Universe but it's on backorder-arrghh!!!. Gary Bartz is a brilliant player on alto and soprano sax. His playing is downright funky!!!
  15. He appeared on several of Blue Mitchell's mainstream dates. A great drummer.
  16. Or maybe make a friendly wager.
  17. Thanks Zman for this great information. It is greatly appreciated.Have a great day. Gratefully, Chris Olivarez
  18. While Duke has done some over the years that might be considered marginal by some the pluses far outweigh the minuses. I agree with Tom on "Duke's Blues" and I'm always ready to pull the trigger on every Robillard release that comes out.Duke adds something good to every session by other people that he participates in. One that people on the board might be interested in is "After Hours Swing Session". I would also like to second Tom on Ronnie Earl-a great player!!!
  19. And Silver N' Flubber. . Seriously though I will pick up the USOM when it comes out and here's another vote for the Silver N' series to be reissued.
  20. This is a good set. Highly recommended.
  21. Along with James Earl Jones his is a voice I wish I had. One of these days I'll need to take a refresher course on his recordings but I do remember them as pretty cool.
