  1. Shrdlu, glad to see you here! I hope you're doing well. There's a JRVG of Back at the Chicken Shack?!?
  2. Very nicely said, Jim. Thanks.
  3. It was very deep and long. It kept opening up and bleeding. Then again, Lewis was targeting it. Yes, Klitschko was ahead on everyone's score card when they called the fight. I think he would've knocked Lewis down in the next round. Lewis was tired and sluggish. Klitschko was very focused.
  4. Found this on the Downbeat website: Les McCann Blindfold Test from 1961 Dig what he says about the last tune. I agree completely with him (about Stanley, that is!!!!)
  5. Lewis just looked way out of shape. If not for Klitschko's eye, the fight would've been his. Damn, that was a nasty cut, though. I can't believe they didn't end it sooner.
  6. Damn... I'm going to have to get that Live Three Ways disc. Pullen is a motherfucker on the organ on that video.
  7. Joe and I saw him in Ann Arbor with Lou Donaldson back in the late 90s. With the Turbanator on organ. That was a BAD show! Peter tore it up. And the Dr. was outrageous as always. The drummer was from Chicago, but I forget his name. It wasn't the japanese cat that's usually with Lou. I like Peter's Criss Cross records, too. He writes some very interesting tunes.
  8. Seems like with a wealth of material the producer just picked the absolute best tunes that fit the alloted time (45 minutes) for the LP. I'm sure the other tunes are fine. I would love to hear this as well! Spencer plays on this, not Patton, right?
  9. What if I switch to nose-flute?
  10. I've watched the two movies... haven't read the books, though. I figured I should at least know what's going on. Give me Tolkien anyday.
  11. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think we have ignore lists here.... Welcome Greg.
  12. Guys, we're all friends here. I think we need to take a step back. Let's cool off for a bit, eh?
  13. That's extremely lame. Does anyone know how old he is for real? I can't believe that he's out of his 20s yet pulling that sort of shit.
  14. C'mon, we all love Mny. Moose and Mny need to make up. I know one thing... I don't want to play one-on-one with ya!!!
  15. Solution: Go to the Nsync fan board and start a thread stating that Justin Timberlake sometimes posts on this board under the pseudonym "Jsngry".
  16. How old is Heaney? 15?
  17. They should put Jimmy Smith on. Can you imagine that? Caller: "Hi, Mr. Smith. Oh man, I've been listening to your music forever! You're the greatest." Jimmy: "Goddammit." Caller: "Anyway, would you play Walk On The..." Jimmy: "Yeah yeah, I know! Walk on the Goddamn Wild Side! I'll play it. I've been walking on the wild side since before you were born..."
  18. Jesus.. who compiled that piece of garbage? Alicia Keys in the 30s?!?? Gimme a break. You're right, the Top Ten is downright shameful. Have the last 25 years really been that bad or do these people's tastes just suck? I mean really.... I Will Always Love You rated #8?!?! That song BLOWS!
  19. Aric's around? Where?
  20. Peter Gabriel talked about this. Supposedly there is some book about it out there. He wrote some of the songs on "Us" with these things in mind.
  21. I agree with Joe G. It is insanely hypocritical for a jazz publication to devout an issue to overrated or underrated musicians since the critics themselves are responsable for such status. It was a marketing ploy, pure and simple and one of the major reasons why I do not read JazzTimes magazine anymore.
  22. Just admit it, Mnytime... you're one of them there college boys! We don't like no smert peoples 'round here.... Where's my "Cletus the Slackjawed Yokel" smiley?!?
  23. 286,573. It's leveling off a bit but still goin' down!
  24. I agree. He's a great player, but he needs an attitude check.
  25. ...do well. Surely that's exactly what you meant, correct? Hey, is this a test?!? Actually, I don't believe in correct grammar. I think it's just a mechanism for suppression.
