The Terracotta Warriors exhibit a few weeks ago at the Asian Art Museum. And the Girl With the Pearl Earring exhibit at the De Young before that, and the Winogrand exhibit at the SFMOMA before that.
I think I can recommend The Storm of War: A New History of the Second World War by Andrew Roberts. I'm about halfway through right now; a real page-turner; can't wait to see how it comes out.
I caught the first episode and quite liked it. The entire show is only supposed to be six episodes. More like a British show, in that respect, than an American one.
I like Dave Kehr's writing a lot. Hoberman I used to read a lot back in the 80's when I used to read the Voice pretty regularly. Not a big fan of Rosenbaum, but I guess I'm not along in that.
