  1. If I can get out of work at a decent time on Friday, I'd definitely like to come check it out! We are closing the month of August that day (I'm an accountant) and it usually involves a late night at work.
  2. Thanks! I'll be sure not to miss Jordan/Anderson/Bankhead/Drake.....that should be something!!
  3. Sounds like a good one! I'll look for it.
  4. Picked up "For Real" a month ago...great session!
  5. You'll have better chances of decent weather over Labor Day weekend. I think the chances of it being intolerably hot are slim. If you want to play it safe, the terrace reserved seats are decent and you'll be under the grandstand. But I'd advise getting the field box or the bleachers above anywhere else.
  6. Wayne Rooney is out for two months with a hairline fracture in his foot! New signing Carlos Tevez (a hell of a striker) will be replacing Rooney in the Manchester United front line. I think this injury is going to hurt the England national team more than Man U.
  7. I guess just avoid the upper deck would be my advice. The bleachers are a great experience! Otherwise, anywhere else will do.
  8. Inland Empire is out on DVD tomorrow!
  9. If you've never been to Wrigley, just being there will be an incredible experience, no matter where you sit. For those of us who have been to ridiculous amounts of games, we are more picky.
  10. Any news about these? Still not up for presale at CD Universe.

  12. I've bought around 40 since all this started. Not too bad.
  13. Holy crap, thanks for posting this! Picked up The Bootleg Series Vol. 1-3 for just $3.25 shipped!
  14. RDK, the links don't appear to work...

I don't dislike Spaulding, but I've never been particularly moved by anything I've heard from him. He's fine, but I'm indifferent.
  16. I read somewhere that WW is the only diet verified by medical professionals as a guarenteed method of weight loss. Of all diets out there, WW is the only one that will work for all people as long as the program is followed.
  17. Yeah I hate not being able to keep up with the European leagues via television. I need a dish or digital cable to get Fox Soccer Channel and GOL TV, and that just ain't in the budget right now.
  18. I've found that coffee does curb my appetite, but then again sometimes it makes it harder to fall asleep.
  19. Don't eat for at least 3-4 hours before you go to bed. You'd be surprised how helpful that is in losing weight. And drink alot of water. Helps your stomach feel full and can help prevent you from overeating. Plus, when you put it into your body, you are actually burning calories.
  20. I haven't heard any of it, and have hardly read anything about it. What is it that doesn't work? Can't really explain....you should really hear it for yourself. I admire its adventurous spirit, but it comes off sounding like a somewhat, if not completely, unsuccessful experiment to me.
  21. Heard "Hip Hop is Dead" from NAS....wasn't impressed at all. Just like every album from "It was Written" til now, Nas can't seem to find a producer to give him enough good beats to produce a consistant record if his life depended on it. I'm not going to listen to a hip hop album if the beats aren't there....sorry. Which is why I didn't enjoy the Sean Price or Ghostface records either. They are great MC's who I've enjoyed greatly in the past and still respect to this day, but unfortunately, they just don't make good music anymore IMO. I'll give you the DJ Jazzy Jeff and the KRS/Marley Marl discs....those were pretty good, but I don't think they are on par with "Finding Forever". The GZA/Muggs disc was fantastic, no doubt, but wasn't that 2 or 3 years ago? Regardless, no need to debate who is better or worse than Common...its all music and subject to opinion. For the record, I never really thought of Common as "progressive"....just a really talented artist with skills on the mic who has always seemed to stand out from the rest. Not alot of acts in hip hop who can claim that, especially nowadays. P.S. X-Clan....those were the days!
  22. I agree 100% with this statement, despite the fact that I thoroughly enjoy his playing during this period. Some of my favorite drumming of Max's that doesn't seem to get discussed much is his work in JJ Johnson's combos on Columbia, which were compiled in the OOP Mosaic. Very inspired. The quartet date with J.J. and Flanagan? Indeed Max is terrific there - in a league of his own! Yep. There were a few dates with that quartet if I remember correctly. Those are probably my favorite recorded trombone quartet sessions that I've heard since getting into jazz, and Max had alot to do with that!
  23. Mexico vs. Brazil exhibition match at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA on Sept. 12!!!! ARRRRGGGHHHHHH!!!! Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade my upcoming trip to Europe for anything in the world, but this is one match I really don't want to miss! Its bad enough having to miss the first two weeks of the NFL, but this one really hurts!
