  1. I'm not really a fan of the MLS, but at times I grow curious and am looking forward to watching the Chicago Fire/LA Galaxy match this afternoon. I guess they are playing for a playoff spot, and each team features a recently added foreign superstar (Blanco and Beckham). And as its on Telefutura, one can expect good commentating. I'll be flipping between this match and NFL games. More Champions League action this Tuesday/Wednesday!!
  2. Great session.
  3. Thats another place I'd move to in a heartbeat. Its a really beautiful country with very nice people.
  4. In the United States, I'd move to western Oregon, no question. Absolutely love it there. If I could move anywhere in the world that I've visited, it would be to the Pyrenees of South France. In reality, anywhere in the South of France would work for me!
  5. I picked this one up last week and just got through it this afternoon. Its a good one! I hear a stronger pop music influence on this recording than on previous ones.

Seems forever isn't as long as you might think!
  7. These remasters were coming out on CD around the time I started listening to jazz (10 years or so ago), so they are the only versions I know. They sound great to me. BATAT is one of my favorite sessions of all time, and Sonny Rollins on Impulse is very fine as well.
  8. I am sorry to hear this. Like many othershere, its happened to me, and it really sucks.
  9. This is an EXCELLENT Radiohead album. I know that pretty much everything they put out is quality stuff, but this one is really standing out for me. They seem to have gone back to basics.....the sound is much simpler than their more recent material, yet the songs still have alot of depth. Really digging this.
  10. Spinning this again....such great music!! Definitely my favorite Metheny-related project. The extra tracks at the beginning are nice.
  11. A respectable list in my eyes. Michigan is putting out some of the best beer anywhere and I'm glad they are well represented this list. I'll take Bells over Three Floyds any day! The ranking order is a bit odd, though. I'm having difficulty rationalizing how Goose Island is ranked higher than Samuel Smith.
  12. I like the way they look too, and don't mind wearing them once in a while. I just wish they weren't so damn uncomfortable!
  13. So....has anyone downloaded the album yet? How did it go? Impressions? I downloaded it last night. The website was quite slow, obviously due to heavy traffic, and getting the download into my shopping cart. making my "donation", and checking out is what took the longest (probably 15 minutes for the whole process). However, the album downloaded quickly, and I was able to extract and burn it to CD with problem at all. I listened to the first 5 songs on my way to work this morning. The sound quality is not great, but its far from unlistenable. I imagine it won't sound too great in high end systems, but sounds just fine in my car. As far as the music goes, it sounds like its going to be an excellent Radiohead album! I already like four of the five songs I've heard more than most of the tracks on "Hail to the Thief", which I also really enjoyed. edit for spelling
  14. I don't see this happening. He's happier than he ever was on his previous teams.
  15. Smokestack is one of my favorite Hill recordings....a unique gem in not only his recorded legacy, but in all of recorded jazz. However, I usually don't recommend it to people who are still "on the fence" with regards to Hill's music. It seems to be a great next step once you're bitten by the bug!
  16. Illinois, baby! Been waiting for a long time for a team like this.
  17. They are playing in Chicago very soon, at the wonderful Chicago Theatre. I almost sprung for a ticket, but they were a bit pricey and I've seen Dylan countless times already. Plus, the upcoming Neil Young show (also at the Chicago Theatre) has drained my live music fund.
  18. The Bears needed that win really badly. A season-salvaging game against a 4-0 Green Bay team. Wins don't get much sweeter than that.
  19. Black Fire and Judgment would be good ones to try next, but eventually you'll want them all. They are that good, and they all get better with time/repeated listens.
  20. What are they describing his injury as?
  21. Bought it today....can't wait to listen to it!
  22. I've spent considerable amounts of time in Mexico throughout my life (my father was born there), and I've not really found anything availaible in the United States that can touch the sauces/salsas that you can get there. However, this stuff is one of the best I've had here.... Yucateca habanero sauce...great flavor and quite hot.
  23. I'm sure chewy will meet you there!
