    Kitty Margolis

In case anyone's interested, KCSM (link to website for non-Bay Area listeners!) Sunday night (December 12) at 8PM Pacific time, there will be a one hour broadcast of a live Kitty Margolis performance on Sunday Night Suites with Bud Spangler!
  5. Watch the video - she's white. The kids aren't. I'd scold you and tell you that didn't necessarily have anything to do with it, but I'm afraid my nose would start growing...
  6. So if you can do it, it's okay? Hmmm...
  7. Personally, I like what I've heard of the disc. As for 'right', that doesn't make a lot of sense; he didn't add his own name to the list, you know...
  8. ....many times, with great results for the most part! Maybe I'm just easy ! Same here; I have quite a few CDs that were purchased after hearing a track on KCSM. With jazz, the method seems to work quite well. With other genres, not so well...
  9. Wow...that makes me feel so lucky to have KCSM out here on the airwaves; I've heard at least a cut or two of most of them, although I'll admit the only one I've picked up so far is the Conrad Herwig disc...
  10. Reminds me of one of my early Thanksgiving recipes: Step One: Peel back foil to expose desert...
  11. Maybe so, DrJ., but I'm taking no chances. I'll never shampoo a rat again!
  12. I'm shocked; there are some lines even I won't touch...
  13. Three graduate students are on a trip in (insert your favorite obscure nonsensical primitive locale here) when they are captured an isolated tribe who decide to execute them with a crude guillotine. The first, a divinity major, shouts out "May your god spare my life and prevent this device from killing me!". Much to the tribes amazement, the blade fails to drop, and the divinity major is spared. Next, the English major is brought up, and of course, simply repeats what he heard the divinity major say. Again, the blade fails to fall, and he is spared. Finally, the third student, an engineering major is brought before the guillotine. As he raises his eyes to the heavens and starts to repeat the life saving mantra, he stops and announces..."well, there's your problem right there! If you tie the knot on the other side of the blade, it should work perfectly!" Okay, not as geeky as the others here, but someone has to tell the worst joke on a thread...
  14. This is the only disc I've heard of his; judging by it, I think he's fantastic, but of course that's pretty limited exposure...
  15. I'd pick Gordon or Herwig, but I can't decide. I suppose I should flip a coin and vote... Okay; it came up heads, but to be accurate, subtract half a vote from Gordon and give it to Herwig!
  16. I tend to "rewrite" the question in these things in my mind to "who's your favorite among these artists" rather than who's your favorite period. Saves wear and tear on the heart and all. That said, I must admit I had to pick 'other' this time around...
  17. Wow, Steve; I can't think of a better recommendation for oneself than that! Well, maybe running off a Maltz...
  18. I can't speak for your side of the great divide, Bev, but over here we just don't allow such things anymore, or at least try hard to kill them whenever possible. Radio like that just isn't around anymore, at least here...
  19. I hear ya; I got so sick of hearing nothing but Sun Ra there, I quit going...
  20. He (Maurice Brown) has been getting some good airplay on KCSM over the last month, but I can't say his stuff has really grabbed me.
  21. Hans, are you serious? You actually got banned on one board for comments made on a different board?? That's got to be a first!
  22. I suppose everyone has this already, but ya just gotta get Mongo at the Village Gate...
  23. Looks fine on Firefox as well!
  24. The interesting thing, of course, is how they manage to reproduce while walking past you. I'm sure it's quite a sight...
