I use milk, then coat with flour/spices. THEN refrigerate for one hour and recoat before frying. Mmmmmmmm! Must admit I haven't made fried chicken in years, though...I think it's about time!

Ack! I'm on a junk kick...made serious headway on getting the garage under control, but in the process found my boxes of SF paperbacks and such. So, I'm reliving my younger days. At the moment, it's Harry Harrison's Stainless Steel Rat books, alternating with short stories by William Tenn.

We did alright. Ended up at a state park that wasn't crowded at all; we had enough "space" not to have to hear other coversations and such. Unfortunately, the fog was NOT in as the weather reports promised, and I was stupid enough to not bring sunscreen or a hat. I'm in pain...

I didn't vote as I have none of these. The Django is on my "must buy" list thanks to a sample tape a fellow board member was kind enough to send my way, and I'm darned curious about the Venuti/Lang. The Farlow is on my "get before it goes away" list, but that's quite a ways out. The others I haven't thought about yet. Probably depends on how my budget looks when they hit "running low"...

Blakey was the name that came to mind for me as well, Brownie. However, I honestly don't feel qualified to respond as there are some GLARING holes in my Blue Note representation...very little Turrentine or Silver, to name two artists mentioned here. Hey, I can't afford it all! (But really, there's no excuse for just having two Silver discs, is there? )

I've finally got a REAL WEEKEND off and this thread is nowhere in sight! WTF??? Anyway, we're heading to the beach tomorrow to freeze our butts off, no doubt. Be nice to get out of town for a while. We're going to try to find some place that isn't too crowded, avoiding Santa Cruz and Monterey. Wish us luck... Sunday will be back to cleaning the garage probably. Plus I have got to straighten out the "spare bedroom", commonly referred to as the Moose Pen...
