  1. Morganized, I checked out alldirect, but alas, no Sonic Boom there...
  2. Big hair bands? I'd rather have more Hello, Kitty...
  3. Interesting. I've seen it several times, and for me it's one of those movies that gets better each time. I won't say it's on the level of Citizen Kane; it's not. But it is fascinating to see how Tarrantino constructs the film, so I enjoy it in much the same way I enjoy Citizen Kane (though admittedly on a lesser level).
  4. I checked today, and they had the new Sam Rivers and Lee Morgan Conns, but man, they are still pretty much on empty on most stuff. Couldn't come up with enough from my "want list" to make a decent order, so I guess I'll have to look elsewhere...
  5. Johnny, KCSM occasionally plays more adventurous stuff; you might want to give them a try... Address: KCSM 1700 W. Hillsdale Blvd. San Mateo, CA 94402 I'm pretty sure Jesse "Chuy" Varela is the main person who checks out the incoming discs. Sorry I can't be of more help...
  6. Shoot; I missed the party with yesterday's "ever slowing forum" problem, but Happy Birthday anyway, John. At least you got a cool present!
  7. Well, like the fine print on the bottom of the recipe card says, two heads are better...nah, I can't do it.
  8. Leave it to jazzbo to forget about the 8 purists demanding that light from a cotton filament is far warmer and natural looking than that of a tungsten filament!
  9. I'm not surprised, with all you chumps trying to sucker him out of his money! Ed is more perceptive than that; the man's a genius! By the way, my TV special is scheduled for early May next year...
  10. I've been watching the original since the days of Chris Noth, and love the show. It's had its ups and downs, but I still enjoy it. SVU never appealed to me. I don't care for the characters, and the exploitive feel of the show is a bit much for me. Criminal Intent is worth watching just for the main character. Makes the lead on "Monk" seem normal!
  11. ...and I'll take the one by "Booby", if it's still there! (PM on the way)
  12. Damn it, Jim; we don't care about your squirrel...stay on topic for crying out loud!
  13. I'm going to pretend that they don't ship to California!
  14. Same here; that was weird.
  15. Damn you! I gave up the cigars, and was perfectly happy with "tolerates jazz" until you posted that!!
  16. I know what you mean. Let's face it, those damned plebians just don't appreciate our sophisticted humor! Riffraff...
  17. All this talk of numbers made me check; I got #111. Pretty strange looking to me, considering the lowest numbered set I've received prior to this has been the Anita O'Day at #1627... But the music! Maybe it's just the fact that it's the newest one, but this is definitely my favorite Mosaic so far, at least of the single artist packages. (I have a hard time comparing the Capitol Jazz box with all the variety.) Then again, with one exception, I've felt that way each time a Mosaic has shown up on my porch...
  18. Ha! I used to joke around saying I was a lesbian trapped in a man's body, but nobody ever got it, and it just made people uncomfortable...
  19. I think I'm going to be sick now...
  20. Hah! You may give "no location", but with this line, we can definitely narrow it down to the United Snakes! Probably in Sector "R"!
  21. In my never ending effort to alienate as many as possible, I feel compelled to leap in here and say that The All-Seeing Eye is my favorite Shorter disc. Oh well...
  22. Well, in all honesty, this may be intended as a kindness on their part. After listening to Monk's Blues it's hard for me not to think that Underground should have been the last...
  23. Hold it, weizen! I'm merely misunderstood!! I was objecting to his "hating every other song on there", not his liking Don't Fear the Reaper, I assure you!
  24. Hmm. Two for "Out of Sight"; and I've never heard of it. I'll have to check out Blockbuster!
  25. Yeah, it sounds like a story concocted by an instructor after the fact, doesn't it?
