It also helps if you read French. As the weather gets warmer, people will drop their guard...at their peril. -
What rock music are you listening to? Non-Jazz, Non-Classical.

I think we all understand that not receiving some records or CDs are, in the scheme of things, minor irritants, especially in the middle of a pandemic where many are worrying about whether they’ll have a roof over their heads or a meal, and we’ll deal with it, just fine, thank you Capitan, but when lives are thrown upside down, it never hurts to get something off your chests. That’s what these places are for, right?

Allegedly it has to do with his claim — disproven — that Amazon is getting a break from the USPS and he hates Amazon because Bezos owns the Washington Post.
-
The USPS is a semi autonomous corporation so I don’t think he can order them to do that. However, he said he would veto any bill that contains a loan for them so someone needs to talk sense to him. Yeah, good luck with that.

You open the slit so you can take the record out but leave the rest of the shrinkwrap on.

You’re screwed: Jersey City, where media mail goes to die!

It does seem to make a difference. I received a cd today I ordered less than a week ago that went first class. Sounds familiar. No change in my two missing packages

I had always kept the shrinkwrap on and a selling point with record sellers seems to be that the shrinkwrap is still on. However, I ran across the following thread on Hoffman suggesting that leaving them on can do damage to the jackets over time. It’s an interesting question. Since I already use an outer sleeve, shrinkwrap seems superfluous. On or Off?

10 Women in Jazz Who Never Got Their Due “While we’re often taught to think of jazz’s history as a cavalcade of great men and their bands, from its beginnings in the early 20th century women played a range of important roles, including onstage....Prevented from taking center stage, many female instrumentalists became composers, arrangers or artists’ managers...The piano and organ were considered more socially acceptable instruments for young women to play, and few serious fans of jazz would be unfamiliar with the names Mary Lou Williams, Marian McPartland, Hazel Scott, Shirley Scott or Alice Coltrane. But the ranks of female jazz genius run much deeper than that.”

Always is.

If I (we) knew of these problems, I’m sure we would have. Going forward, I will be asking for priority.

Patience is about all we have! No progress today either.

One of my early favorites but my first BN was Moanin’ so I will go with that.

That’s incredibly annoying. I live in NJ and am finding Jersey City to be a huge bottleneck. I received a package today that went through that facility. Still waiting on two others that have been routed through there.
-
I have a package arriving today that was shipped on April 12 from the St. Louis area. The NY one was shipped on April 9 and is nowhere to be seen. Fingers crossed.
