  1. Rolling Stone story: Rolling Stones Drop New Song, ‘Living in a Ghost Town’
  2. Patience is about all we have! No progress today either.
  3. One of my early favorites but my first BN was Moanin’ so I will go with that.
  4. That’s incredibly annoying. I live in NJ and am finding Jersey City to be a huge bottleneck. I received a package today that went through that facility. Still waiting on two others that have been routed through there.
  5. Ditto! You’re not going to find a better price than this. $80 is a bargain.
  6. I have a package arriving today that was shipped on April 12 from the St. Louis area. The NY one was shipped on April 9 and is nowhere to be seen. Fingers crossed.
  7. Media mail is even worse than always. What should take days is taking weeks. I’m waiting for a set going from NY to NJ that I purchased two weeks ago; it would have been faster if I drove to NY myself. Who knows when it will come.
  8. No, they’re not, they’re thinking of putting a bid together. I doubt — and hope it won’t — happen. I don’t think it would. It would be similar to the Marlins situation where they had to cut payroll because they couldn’t afford the team. Aroid and Jlo would need wealthy partners to swing this. I’d much rather have Cohen, who has deep pockets than these two. It would be a disaster.
  9. Nice article in the Times about Henry Grimes and Giuseppi Logan. Henry Grimes and Giuseppi Logan, Lost and Found Jazz Stars, Are Both Gone
  10. Best birthday wishes.
  11. I came across this short film tonight about a survivor of the Holocaust. It’s quite moving.
  12. I have a bunch of packages outstanding but things just take their time. One arrived today. Now, I have to let it sit in “quarantine.” Opinions differ on how long you should let a package sit. Here is the latest from the Times. Is the Virus on My Clothes? My Shoes? My Hair? My Newspaper?
  13. As the article indicates, at this stage, the results are anecdotal at best. Releasing this kind of news is not necessarily a good idea because if subsequent results are disappointing, hopes will be dashed.
  14. That’s a strange one.
  15. I recently purchased two cds from a Japanese seller I’ve purchased from in the past and he told me that because of Covid he couldn’t tell me when I might receive the package. I think we are just going to have to be very patient.
  16. For me, the latest bottleneck is the Jersey City facility. A lot of packages seem bottled up there.
  17. According to Tuesday’s Business section of the Times, City Lights has survived, thanks to its GoFundMe campaign, netting $400,000 after seeking $300,000.
  18. We had a discussion about expiry dates on food a couple of months ago and this article is now quite relevant. Happy to admit that I was wrong. The Food Expiration Dates You Should Actually Follow
  19. That is a real shame.
  20. Getting people back on topic can be like pulling teeth. I was there once about four years ago when I was visiting SF. They had a great collection of NYRB Classics. Hope they can survive.
