Same for me, in all respects. I ordered it Saturday and it’s supposed to be delivered today. -

Heard from Tommy and my copy is reserved, plus I signed up to be on his mailing list.

"Green Book," new movie about pianist Don Shirley

I hadn't read any of Rex Reed's work in years but the lines quoted above sound like typical Rex Reed. However, when you read the full review, he mostly avoids embellishments (although there are a couple of notable exceptions) and the review is quite complimentary. -
On reflection, it was incorrect to engage in generalizations as rule or lawbreaking is endemic in our society, not just athletics, and violence against women is a societal problem.

I’m glad you turned your life around. What I meant is that we are — and have been — dealing with athletes who are pampered from high school on, maybe earlier. When they are put on a pedestal and allowed to skirt — if not disregard — rules, incidents like these are a logical result. It would seem that based upon the experiences of others, some of these athletes would realize that they have to abide by the rules that the remainder of society has to observe. Fortunately, the numbers of transgressors are small.

Being young is no excuse and I don’t believe the lack of habitual conduct should be a factor. I don’t believe Ray Rice engaged in habitual conduct and he never played again. I just saw the video and why he was not arrested is perplexing. Perhaps the woman’s conduct aggravated the situation and was a factor in why he was not arrested. At any rate, I think teams may stay away from him.

That was the criticism, that it was Miss Daisy in reverse and a “buddy” movie. -

Thanks for the link. I'm going to ask my nephew to give me the book for the holidays. Call me a philistine but I had never focused on who was who in that photo before I read the article. All I can say is WOW! -
I'm sure he will be poison. These guys never learn.

For teams like the Cubs and the Red Sox, whose stadiums are smaller than the average and who are always competitive, ticket prices are always going to be more expensive. Tickets to events are very expensive in this country. They get cheaper when your team is terrible I can't speak for other stadiums but at Citifield, where the Mets play, if you're sitting in the field level, they offer a waiter service so you don't have to wait on line. It adds a little cost but it can be worth it. -

This past year I had seats five rows behind the visitors dugout at Citifield but it was so blazing hot that I moved upstairs to the upper deck, which was shaded from the sun. Sitting upstairs gives you a better perspective of the whole field; you can see how the fielders are positioned and how they move from batter to batter. In addition, since the higher seats may be less expensive, you may enjoy the game a bit more. -

I always try to sit behind or slightly to the left (if it’s on the third base side) or to the right (if it’s on the first base side) of one of the dugouts although because tickets are expensive that can mean anywhere from 15 rows up from the field all the way to the upper deck. -
The Mosaics you want to keep and the ones you want to get rid of is very subjective, to state the obvious. I've sold a Mosaic that I later bought back (not from the same buyer, though). There are some I bought on a whim and they didn't do much for me so I sold them. However, for the most part I'm keeping most of the ones I purchased.
