  1. The Yankees already have corner outfielders. Harper doesn’t make sense for them or for the Mets.
  2. This is a terrific series that just concluded. Never read any Willkie Collins but may give it a try.
  3. One of my early purchases. Had a lot of songs not available then on CD.
  4. The part about eBay is a real hoot.
  5. Although ostensibly a kid's movie it's a satire -- and a funny one at that -- of the craziness of the Internet.
  6. I haven’t listened to WKCR in awhile so wasn’t aware he was sick. Yes, he has his faults but when I first started listening to jazz, his Birdflight program was an invaluable asset.
  7. Speaking of Cooperstown, Mariano Rivera is on the ballot this year (along with the late Roy Halliday). If Mariano is not a unanimous selection, something’s wrong.
  8. The Yankees had first asked for Segura but when they were turned down, the transaction turned to Paxton. I think trading Sheffield was a mistake but time will tell.
  9. Another article about the movie. Aretha Franklin Didn’t Want You to See This Movie. But You Must.
  10. Yankees have acquired Paxton from Seattle and according to MLB Network are prioritizing more starting pitching over signing Machado or Harper, which makes sense.
  11. Step inside the mind of one of America's great virtuosos, thanks to a vast archive of his personal writings, home recordings and artistic collages. This vast collection, which was available to be viewed at his house in Queens, now a museum, has been digitized. Louis Armstrong's Life in Letters, Music and Art
  12. Second time seeing it. As good as the first. Some inaccuracies and made up scenes but still a great movie.
  13. I don't believe so because that's the way Mookie Wilson pronounces his name.
  14. It's more like Moo (a cow's moo) key.
  15. Yes, I did and I’m not one of those who had to. One of the reasons many people have to work over 65 is they don’t have the savings for retirement.
  16. Mookie Wilson was never pronounced like “bookie.”
  17. I retired last year. Missed the grind a first but not now. Still doing a little work for a client, not so much for the money but to keep busy.
  18. The final vote total showed he was 10 votes behind Ramirez. Bergman was six votes behind him.
  19. I'm only 40 pages into this but finding it a tough slog so far.
