  1. Yes, that’s Barry Harris and as you said he was a real keeper of the flame.

    RSD Releases

One site I saw said the Stitt would be available on cd but I didn’t see it on Amazon unlike the Bishop and Scott dates.
  3. An album with a lot of feeling. Just now:
  4. It’s now a permanent rule. Many traditionalists are upset by it but I like the rule. 15, 16 inning games are not fun to watch.
  5. Your hypothetical, though, is a contract law question and Kevin’s post doesn’t have anything to do with radio air play.
  6. What makes you think it shouldn’t be?
  7. I have for sale MD7-223, Woody Herman The Complete Columbia Recordings Of Woody Herman And His Orchestra & Woodchoppers (1945-1947). Everything is mint. Only listened to a couple of the CDs. Discs 4-7 are still sealed. Price is $100 plus $5 shipping. Payment via PayPal. Please pm me if interested.
  8. Thanks. Looking at the Cookers one.

    RSD Releases

Apparently it was issued in 2015 and it’s being reissued again. I suppose it’s being issued in vinyl is what makes it novel.
  10. How is the sound on the Gearbox releases?
  11. Hadn’t heard of this company before but looks like they have some interesting releases, some Billy Harper, Dexter, Monk and Yusuf Lateef, plus other genres. Perhaps this release is a way to gain more recognition. https://www.gearboxrecords.com

    Dodo Marmarosa

This was re-issued in Japan in 2021.
  13. Disc 7. Lester appears with Sonny Stitt on a couple of tracks at a 1957 concert at the Chicago Opera House. I wonder how many times they appeared together on the same stage.
  14. Many of the people over there are overly fixated on the minutest of issues. The Classics series has re-issued some rare recordings. I tend to purchase more of that series than TPs, which I mostly have in cd and are fine for me.

    RSD Releases

The RSD blurb says “While these tracks have previously appeared on other albums, this is the first time they have been gathered in one package.”

Mastered by Bernie Grundman The Bird one doesn’t look like anything special: a compilation of previously released sessions. There are also a couple of Muddy Water releases that look interesting.
  17. Another one to buy.
  18. I’m in for this.
  19. I have Mad About Tadd on cd. It’s phenomenal.
  20. I had one case like that: the cd case was damaged, the tray card slightly damaged and the booklet crushed at the top. I contacted Mosaic and they will be sending replacements. From what Scott said this doesn’t look like an isolated problem so you should contact them.
  21. That was the worst I’d seen.
