I remember seeing that in college in 1971 so I guess we're dating ourselves Mark.

What a bunch of crap. Maybe it was the Clay Aikens of the world that subsidized their having some great and unusual and obscure Jazz records.
-
To watch the movie "Reefer Madness."

The guy got caught with pine tar. That's cheating. Yes, I know many cheat. But if you're caught with it, you need to serve the penalty, which is a 10 game suspension. It's not a question of whether it made a diference or not (plus who knows what he put in his glove after he was made to wash his hands), it's a question of what he did. I hope this is not a question of LaRussa not pushing it because Leyland is his buddy. If I were a Cardinal fan, I'd be raising holy heck about this. You know for sure that if the Mets were in this thing and this had happened and been discovered, there would be a major uproar.

Excellent suggestion.

Been there, done that. I don't know if you can buy partials anymore but through this method I got the book and one cd from Quebec and Hardee and a partial of the Clayton Mosaic. The book has a big x through it but who cares. At least you get it.
-
Sorry Claude
-
I've listed another Mosaic on ebay, the Lee Morgan Wayne Shorter Vee Jay Complete Sessions. Please let me know if you have any questions.
-
Agreed. However, that's the title of the set and in the listing I explain clearly what I don't have.

Ditto but the runner never gets the call. On another issue, this is what I hate about modern baseball and specialization. Unless Kenny Rogers had nothing left in the tank, he should finish the game. However, managers, no matter how well a starting pitcher has pitched, constantly go to the closer in the ninth and I've seen this blown up many times. The Tigers were lucky on this one.
-
Yes, I meant raise them, try to even things out but you're right. It won't happen.
-
According to the article it was. It may be time to lower them again.

That happened to me with a book I got from Ebay about the North African War in WW2. It got better but I wound up buying a replacement from Abe Books. It was just too annoying.

I readily admit that we haven't been in the Series too much (although we've been only around since '62) and that you guys have the most World Series rings for the National League To be a Mets fan (as well as a Nets or Jets fan: they all end in ets -- no coincidence I'm sure) is to be an expert in suffering
-
As the second article indicates, the solution is an exemption so the material can be copied.
-
Well, this didn't sell the first time so it's back here reduced.
-
Shows you why they play the games. Not a series I'll be watching however.
-
I hear it's going to be in the low 40s.

I'd have to say when you're down to your last strike you may be right but that thing just froze him like it woul have most hitters. There was nothing he could have done with it. It wasn't that he didn't know what to do with it. Maybe you thought you'd go crazy because Carlos is one of the better players in the league and has burned the Cardinals quite a few times in the last few years. When the announcers were constantly talking about Albert that didn't bother me because he's one of the best players around although he mostly took off this series. Ignorant Met fans? Got news for you buddy but the New York fans (including Yankee fans and probably Red Sox and Phillie fans) are the most knowledgeable around. No surprise there since New York collectively has won most of the World Series. Going to Busch (and I've been there a few times) is like going to a pep rally. You almost think you're at a Cornhusker home game.
-
WFAN in New York has been non-stop baseball post mortem today. The Mike and the Mad Dog show got hold of a tape of an interview with one of the Cardinal players and in the background you can hear the Cardinal players mocking the Mets by singing that Jose song the Shea pubic announcer was playing when Reyes was up. Allegedly, LaRussa was part of it. What a bunch of fucking assholes. Real Cardinal class. Wouldn't expect any more of that insufferable asshole LaRussa. After that pond scum comment from the 80s, what more could you expect from those morons? God, I hope the Tigers take them out in 4 or 5. I'd love to see the Tigers celebrate in Busch.
-
You don't appear to know what you're talking about. When he threw that pitch to Floyd for strike 3, he showed the Mets hitters he could get it over for strikes and so Beltran had to watch for it in the first two pitches of the AB. When he threw it, there was nothing he could do with it. It was just a perfect pitch.

As I wake up from last night, hand it to the pitching of the Cardinals, especially Suppan. They were very good. In the last part of the Mets series, they had a plan and attacked the Mets' hitters weaknesses. They adjusted and the Mets did not. To get no hits from the second until the ninth inning is just inexcusable. Also, I would have ph for Valentin in the sixth. That was the big shot. However, in my mind, the series was probably lost in the second game when Spiezio got that triple and Wagner gave it up in the ninth. Win that game and the Cards are probably out in 4 or 5. Mets never lead in that series after that and I think that was the turning point. Although not as bad as 1988, this one does pain and I'm in a bit of a fog right now. However, the core is good and there is an article in today's NYT about the need to shore up second base and starting pitching as the principal weaknesses. I guess they're thinkinga about Zito although I'm not sure that I want to spend that kind of money. However, they will sign Glavine for one more year. However, no Pedro until after the All Star break and who knows what he'll be like. Also, Trachsel has seen his last game as a Met. However, I have a lot of confidence in Omar finding the right pieces. Left field is also a potential problem. Other than that, the future looks bright and Maine and Perez really stepped up in the last couple of games so that's a big plus for next year.
-
El Duque will probably be the starting pitcher Saturday night, thereby giving Glavine his full rest for Sunday.
-
I don't know if history means anything but I saw some stat that teams who won the sixth game at home invariably win that particular series. Also, the last team to lose a seventh game at home were the Sox in 1975.

Tom, Can you check on the Frank Foster Cd if it's not too much trouble. Thanks.
