  1. I can see the Politics Forum. Still there.
  2. Hey Berigan, You're lucky and my team is lucky. The Braves and the Mets are two of the more inept teams out there. Nobody can get out of their way. Sad. What the hell happened: talent ain't just there for each of us right now. Hey, at least the Mets didn't lose tonight; they didn't play!
  3. Never been there. Can get high cholesterol elsewhere.
  4. Nothing I really want on there except maybe the King Curtis. My first reaction is "sad" but, like Hans, as long as it pays the bills for the hardcore stuff, I have no complaints.
  5. Can't say the Jones box blows me away but might be nice.
  6. I had that problem with my car CD player. Sometimes the cds worked and sometimes they didn't. Had to eventually replay the player.
  7. How stupid is that? Make unreasonable demands and get nothing, rather than negotiate a reasonable "something" based on projected sales of a jazz CD (what might that be - maybe 3,000 worldwide). Must be the lawyer representing the estate! At least someone is beginning to see the light. why are you slamming the lawyer??? He forgot to disclose he's also a lawyer
  8. Glad the guy got nailed.
  9. Foyle's War is excellent. I have all previously issued on DVD and love them. Are these really new?
  10. I'd have to agree with Dan. If I did this, I'd be imposing my wants and interests on them. As it is, I'm always arguing with my son about who gets to play what in the car: jazz v. metal. Guess who wins I don't try to impose my musical interests on people although Rooster's motives are in the right place.
  11. Stupid ending but Jim is right, life doesn't have neat endings, it just goes on.
  12. I'd like the Bill Evans Trio 64 when it becomes available. I notice you've got it on two lists (next week and still available). What's the difference?
  13. I'd recommend Dizzy Gillespie and His Sextets and Orchestra on Musicraft. It's been reissued as part of the 3 CD Savoy set. For Musicians Only with Getz is classic, one of his best I think of the post bebop era. Also Birk's Works, a double cd on Verve, is a must in my book. Of his later work, there's Dizzy Gillespie's Big 4, which is not bad. And there's always the Mosaic from last year. Great stuff.
  14. Why shouldn't they test for weed? Players should be careful. It's not like this is an isolated occurrence but just another link in the chain of his drug abuse.
  15. Les Tresors du Jazz 1952 - The bonus discs.
  16. I guess they took this "pop" thing seriously
  17. I know it's popular but I do have that east coast bias and frankly how can you call it a sport?
  18. Well, he really didn't, because Barry has never admitted that he knowingly used steroids, or cheated on his wife, or cheated on his taxes, or "cheated the sport". I do wish that instead of the abject apology, Schilling had said something like "I misspoke about whether Barry has admitted any of his misdeeds. He has not, but the evidence of his steroid use is overwhelming and in fact he acknowledged that he used "the cream" and "the clear" from BALCO while denying that he knew they were steroids. Its up to others to decide whether his pursuit of Aaron's record is legitimate." That's fair.
  19. Does anybody really care?
  20. from Baroid. Seriously, I can't believe how much time has been wasted to justify or not justify this person. It doesn't take a genius to see he's not the same person he was with the Pirates. That head is so big, it's about to explode, and I'm not about his having a swelled head, even before he started using steroids. I also don't know why Schilling apologiized. He spoke the truth.
  21. Hope we see a brick and mortar store but I doubt it.
  22. This was on in New York last week and I thought it was fabulous. He really had the golden touch for Atlantic. A fascinating individual. A lot of the program retells his life through interviews that various people did with him before he passed away.
  23. I totally disagree. I think the game is still in denial about the steroid era. I'm hoping that he shatters Aaron's record and exposes Selig & MLB for being the hypocrits that they are. Maybe after "baseball's most cherished record" falls they will see what a mockery they are turning the game into and actually do something about steroid use. They conviently turned a blind eye to all the steroid usage for the past 15 years while MLB's owners got richer and richer. Now just w/in the past two years as Bonds has been closing in are they doing something about it. The current policy is still bullshit, imho. I completely agree with this.
  24. Up. I will try to add a few more in the next couple of days.
  25. 3.06 tonight for premium in suburban NJ. Ouch! and I have to drive to Pennyslvania tomorrow.
