  1. Double amen to that.
  2. The Master Jazz Piano. One of the best Mosaics ever put out IMHO.
  3. Brownie, I may have an extra one. Let me check tonight and get back to you. Even if I don't, I may just pull it out of the auction to send to you. Consider it yours.
  4. No, it's more like sticking the hot dogs in the panties!
  5. I'm selling on ebay 20 Mosaic Brochures that are duplicates. Numbers range from 23 (1998) to 48 (2003). Opening bid is $5. Please let me know if you have any questions.
  6. I know the guy is not the easiest to deal with but all he does is produce. Why the annual rite of trying to trade Manny?
  7. I've just listed on ebay the Elvin Jones Mosaic. Everything is mint and two of the cds are still sealed. Please contact me with any questions.
  8. Darn, u stoll mi ydea fur a thrid.
  9. Found the email. Here is the content: Around this time of year, we receive a number of inquiries asking for our recommendations on box sets. "All of Them!" should be our answer as they are all wonderful examples of this great American art form. But there are definitely sets that seem to have greater appeal than others and what follows are some of the best selling Mosaic Box sets and Mosaic Selects that are still in print. Boxes Hank Mobley Johnny Hodges Django Bix Beiderbecke Peggy Lee and June Christy Selects Grachan Moncur Randy Weston Bob Brookmeyer
  10. Didn't Mosaic send an email last week, something to the effect of most asked about Mosaics, with Hank at the top. I know the Django Mosaic was also in the top 5.
  11. People make mistakes. Who amongst us hasn't said anything they'd like to take back a second after it came out of our mouth. That being said, no matter how contrite his apology, that may have finished him.
  12. From what I've heard the BoSox have the inside track although the Mets are very interested. What about Alou to the Mets. Not sure I like that deal but they are willing to trade Milledge (I don't they like what they saw attitude wise) and apparently they have some kids on the farm that they like more than Milledge so Alou is just a stop gap. The numbers for Alou in 06 seem, on the surface, decent.
  13. For all the listening we do, it's just inevitable we draw a blank. I do it all the time. Embarassing maybe or just old age possibly?
  14. From what I have read, these are even in shorter supply than the XBox 360. Last year, I waited on line for that and of course didn't get it. I wasn't able to get it for my son until May or so of this year so this could be worse. Scarcity brings out the greed instinct. I had also read that ebay had put rules on who could sell this and how often. This is one case where you have to applaud them.
  15. Never been a huge fan of this Mosaic so off to ebay it goes.
  16. Is the Elvin Mosaic gone as I don't see it listed on the Mosaic site as gone?
  17. I saw some crazy auction yesterday or the day before for the Elvin Jones Mosaic, around $200, and it's still current, as far as I can tell.
  18. What ad hominem attacks? Lasorda ran Valenzuela right into the ground. It was criminal. I wouldn't want Sheffield on my team (that is if I needed him although we could use a better right fielder).
  19. What was funny is the absolute stupidity of the characterizations of the Jews. I laughed because it was so clearly ridiculous. Im sure you already know, but Borat (Sacha Baron-Cohen) is a jew. Give me a little credit here
  20. I saw this movie yesterday and it's funny in spots but it's mostly sophmoric humor. However, I thought the Midnight Cowboy theme juxtaposed over his stay in was funny. However, what was not funny at all to me, as a jew, was the running of the jew scene, especially the depiction of the jews with those outlandish features and the pelting of the "baby" jew. I found the laughter in the audience as something they were getting a kick out of because jews were ridiculed and beaten. It's really not that long since we had pogroms, making jews scapegoats, not to mention the Holacaust, and these scenes were reminescent of that.
  21. I'm not familiar with the Twins situation but what that moron did to Fernando is/was unforgivable.
  22. I think I first read Nat Turner when I was a teenager (or if my memory fails me as to when it came out, in my early 20s) and later read Sophie's Choice. I haven't read his other books but Sophie's Choice was one of the best books I've ever read.
  23. Getting his stomach stapled.
  24. It's a blasphemy in my book.
  25. Buddy Rich for sure. Those so-called pyrotechnics bore me.
