  1. The only proper name reference that I've seen is Charles Parker, Jr., which I suppose is not dispositive.
  2. Wasn't that sort of the idea of the Lost Sessions, which, frankly, weren't all that great.
  3. Yes, like someone else said, my collection is better than I thought. I don't have anything by Sun Ra, Don Cherry, Ornette Coleman, Keith Jarrett but then they don't do anything for me so in that respect I don't have any holes. Would I like more of certain artists? Yes, definitely. But when you have about 1,500 Cds and almost 50 Mosaics how much and how much time do you have time to listen to everything?
  4. Based on the above comments, this sounds like a mixed bag. While I would love more KD, if he's not at his best, maybe it's best to keep it hidden away.
  5. I had the box but sold it (did make burns however). I have listened to part of it but 18 CDs is a lot. If this new box is non jazz, I will pass.
  6. One sick day? I took two last week because of the flu
  7. When you need the cash, hard to beat that kind of money. I saw what those Vee Jays brought. Pretty tempting, if you can burn them. Been thinking about selling my Basie Roulette Live for the cash.
  8. The question is why keep new cds? I'm selling off ones that I have and just burning them. Make a copy of the liner notes and you're all set. What's the difference for optics. About the only place I might not do that is Mosaics. Those are special but other than that a lot of time it's music on the go.
  9. Anything from the 1960 Edition of the JMs, the greatest Blakey group.
  10. Ordered four of these, skipping the trad jazz one and have the Perkins Cohn Kamuca cd. Was going to pass on the Lloyd but liked the sound bites.
  11. Sound may not be pristine but hey it's Bud, what else do you need to know!
  12. As I have all these, my wallet says thank you.

    Prestige RVGs

Not wishing to upscale on the ones I had, I'm getting the one I don't: Hawk and well, maybe the Burrell Coltrane.
  14. The Clayton Mosaic was one of my greatest purchases. I got it after it went oop and it took me months for the seller to part it with it but she finally did. It was worth it.
  15. I'll be taking a pasadena on these two.
  16. I have this material but would like to see it nonetheless.
  17. This is a very good series and they reissue material you wouldn't otherwise find on LP. Received my first introduction to Chu Berry so no complaints. The alternative takes might be nice but it's hard to complain when there is no alternative.
  18. It's possible he was doing it as a place holder, then changed its mind. Wonder why he only shipped to Indianopolis.
  19. I think we should make each poster who has more than 5,000 go back and discuss their 5,000 post and discuss it in depth
  20. My personal favorites are the Master Jazz in the Mosaic mentioned by Lon. I also the Black Lions.
  21. From what I can tell as my German is practically non existent, the Eldridge is out of stock. But I've taken the suggestion and book marked it. I had done a search under Eldridge but it didn't show up. Several of you have catalog numbers. How did you get those?
  22. There's a game on YES today, the evil empire vs. somebody. Beats hoops however.
  23. Mostly the whole political forum but I do peek at it once in a while.
  24. Football as played in Europe is older than your so-called "football", so your use of " is misplaced in my opinion. Especially since in our "football", the ball is touched mostly with hands. I hadn't even thought of that... Except for the keeper.
  25. Check this out. Just click watch after page loads. This guy is truly amazing. http://www.sonnyradio.com/chrisbliss.htm
