Jim, You're right. Never mind
-
Yeah, but I heard they took back his copy too.

Dan, I think I'd let this take its course and see what ebay comes back with. I don't know what it will be but I'd let the process proceed.

Response from ebay: Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write eBay with your concerns. I understand that you have purchased item number: 4705006627 from "universalmusicgroup," however, the seller now states that the item was listed at the incorrect price and refuses to complete the transaction. I understand your concern in this matter, my name is Colt and I am happy to help you. As you may already be aware, this is a violation of our "non-selling seller" policy as the seller is refusing to abide by the terms in the listing. However, in order for me to take action on your report, please send me a copy of the actual email along with its full header where the seller refuses to sell the item that was properly won. Also, please be advised that, in order for eBay to investigate this matter further, you must submit the email and header in a single email. As soon as we have received this information, we'll be able to further investigate your situation. Thanks again for writing, and thank you for being part of the eBay community. Regards, Colt PowerSeller Team eBay Trust & Safety

I'm selling this special 3 CD set (rare, I'm told) that Classics put out that's a collection of rarities and odds and ends that didn't appear on Classics. Spans 1924-1949. $20, plus $3 shipping. Overseas, I need to figure out. Please pm me if interested.

I don't know if Allen has sold the KC book but it's really good. Highly recommended. Maybe he should sell it to Ron for $900.

Further update, I talked to Kurt. He seemed like a decent fellow but said that due to this ebay error that once they found the error, they cancelled all outstanding undelivered auction because they would have never sold them at that price, etc. and are in the process of doing refunds. He also said that they would be contacting people to whom they delivered the sets to return them but recognized that what's done is done. To me, it's a breach, it's their mistake. So now onto ebay.

Well, weizen, I mean red menace, I mean Dr. Freud, who said about throwing chickens at him. That would be very fowl indeed!
-
In case anybody would like to call them, the number is 310-965-7879. This, by the way, happens to be that fellow Kurt's number. I've already left him a message so we'll see what develops. I don't think he'll return the call but I let him know I was an attorney and will be calling back again.

Well, I received my email from those assholes at UMG and have already fired off a salvo for their breach of contract and threatening to sue. I will be calling them later today.

my last mosaic purchase for the year? Ha!

With all due respect, I find statements like Lee is the only one for me quite hard to fathom since Donald has such a sweet sound. But beyond that have you listened to Brownie, Blue Mitchell, Tommy Turrentine, Kenny Dorham, Woody Shaw, Carmell Jones or even Freddie Hubbard of the late 50s to early 60s. While I love Lee, there are many, many other brilliant trumpeters. If you made a statement like that you obviously haven't listened to them and I strongly suggest that you do before you make a statement like that again. I also strongly disagree with your views about Pepper. While I have no objection to Gerry Mulligan and enjoy listening to him, for the hard driving hard bop sound of that ear, Pepper is THE MAN! actually I have listened to ALL of those trumpeters... I have plenty of Clifford Brown and the Carmell Jones Select .... I enjoy both of them but IMHO, in the hard bop vein (hate to use that label)... I do place Lee Morgan in a seperate class... (both as a trumpeter and a composer)... Just because I disagree with you doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about.... I'm glad you like Pepper... but I still stand by my comments... that if I wanted more baritone I'd still go with the Mulligan set... Sorry if I offended you with that statement but if you make a statement like that AFTER you've heard all those and you place someone like Brownie behind Lee, that's clearly mind blowing and just wrong headed, in my view. Of course, you're entitled to your opinion. -
I've just ordered this so I'll let you know.
