Did you find the gallery of covers? Never saw it on the menu system when I played the DVD on the computer. Unfortuanately, it doesn't. I thought it did too but it directs to the Mosaic site. Bummer. I was hoping to use some for wallpaper.

I'm afraid all I have is the EmArcy issue but would love to have more. For Fresh Sounds and other releases, you may want to check out dustygroove.com. They carry a lot of Fresh Sounds material and even if it's out of stock, they can get them in pretty quickly.

Someone comes along now and then with a great idea, Dan and Tony with the BFTs and now Parkertown with this. It's a nice way to help out your fellow jazz fan. I've been generally lucky that if I see something I want, I can get it. This is a good way to pay someone back in a jazz way. Now if someone offers a Mosaic, I'll flip my lid

Well, after making that probably stupid comment I decided to check out AAJ and was going to post something but couldn't do so. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can try to get that rectified?

I don't know that you'll find the interview that revealing in that I don't think he's saying anything you haven't read about before but I thought it was quite fascinating to hear him talk about Alfred and Creed Taylor and to see his studio and just to see him in the flesh. It was well worth the cost in my view.

Bev, I don't find AAJ all that terribly interesting to me but it doesn't mean it's not a good site (and if I said otherwise, then I'm wrong). I don't think we're constantly harping on how superior this board is. I just think the feeling is that AAJ is just not the place that many of us call our jazz home. Precious? That's cute. I don't see self congratulation going on here. People like this board more than others. What's wrong with that? As far as sycophancy, it's far from that. When a Larry Kart appears, are you going to listen to them more than someone who is brand new. I think so. That's hardly sycophantic. And frankly I don't get your statement at all about insularity. This is quite a diverse crowd with a broad range of jazz interests from swing to the avant garde. I think it's a quite broad crowd here. And lastly, why bring up that you're British. If one of us made some comment like that, we'd be chopped up and left by the roadside.

Every few days means I'm in the habit of going off on AAJ on a regular basis? Don't think so. I did make a comment about them on the 19th. So what? It's my right to say so. Do you have a problem with that. It appears that you do my friend.

Another one which I think every fan should have is Volume 18, Bird Eyes/Stardust. This has the Live at the Finale Club in L.A. from 1946 (Miles, Joe Albany), a session with Benny Carter, Willie Smith, Nat King Cole, Oscar Moore and Buddy Rich, also from 1946, and a 17 minute interview with John McLellan in Boston from 1953.

Why the bashin'? It was just an offhand, throw away comment. I just don't find it to be a terribly interesting forum. The articles and reviews would be another matter.

Nice picture but I only (only?) have 12 of these, not the full 16. I have the Chambers and Reese in TOCJ so didn't see the need to pick them up. Didn't feel the need to get the Pullen or the Liebman, etc.
