  1. I’m in the same boat on hearing aids. When I get out of the car, off they come. As far as mask wearing goes, the science that I’ve read is pretty conclusive.

I also thought Palmer was projecting.

I have the book. It was written by Robert Palmer. Here are the relevant excerpts.
  4. Not political at all but your post was — at least to me — ambiguous. No one wakes up saying, “boy, I really want to wear a mask, it’s so much fun!” However, it’s necessary and even if NJ ended its mask mandate, I’d still wear one.
  5. Why thankfully (although I hope this doesn’t lead to a political discussion)?
  6. Thanks. I have to admit that I haven’t listened to Turning Point, which I will need to rectify. Breathe is great. You can find cuts on YouTube.
  7. Did you ever discuss Lonnie Smith’s Club Mozambique on your blog. Looked for it but couldn’t find it. Btw, he has a new album out called Breathe, which sounds absolutely killer. Here’s an article JazzWax did on him this week. Dr. Lonnie Smith: Breathe
  8. California I’m sure. That was the problem for me last time as that’s when we eat dinner. However, I’m content to watch the YouTube videos.

Never had the Mosaic but did buy a few years back the book. I purchased the Tone Poet of Minor Move and it’s a beautiful sounding record. I also have the Conn but haven’t done a comparison.
  10. The Mets drive for a championship will have to wait until Monday.
  11. Fully vaccinated and will continue to wear a mask, especially as NJ is in the throes of an increase. I’m planning or hoping to go to a Mets game in late April.
  12. Just finished Season 6 of the French series Spiral, one of my favorite shows that combines detective stories and judicial politics. Onto season 7.
  13. Must have been a mistake. Now back I stick. Ordered mine through Amazon.
  14. Acoustic Sounds has it in stock but since it’s limited to 2,000 copies I’m not sure how many they have. https://store.acousticsounds.com/d/162169/Billy_Harper_Quintet-Antibes_75-180_Gram_Vinyl_Record
  15. Are his online discographies searchable so I can find out where a leader appeared as a sideman.
  16. I’d also recommend these but if I was going to recommend only two, I’d say get the Jass and Stash one Charlie Parker - Boston 1952 - Uptown Records 27.42 Charlie Parker - The Complete “Birth of the Bebop” - Stash 535 Charlie Parker – Montreal 1953 – Uptown 27.36 Charlie Parker - One Night in Birdland - Sony Records Charlie Parker and the Stars of Modern Jazz at Carnegie Hall, Christmas 1949 (Jass Records 16) Depending on how deep you want to go there’s also Jay McShann and Red Norvo material.
