Japanese shipping is problematic. That’s why I’ve given up on buying from Japan unless it’s through CD Japan. This seller, even in the best of times, is also a bit slow.

Apparently, this was an idea that Michael Cuscuna had but just an idea. No work has taken place.

Did you contact Mosaic. They might have a copy.

There’s also the Mosaic Select: Boogie Woogie and Blues Piano but I don’t think any are available at decent prices.

The author has come under fire for sexual assault allegations and the publisher has stopped shipping and promoting his book.

I caught the last couple of minutes of his appearance. He doesn’t look good.

He’s being honored tonight at the NEA Jazz Masters, together with Henry Threadgill, Terri Lynne Carrington and Albert Tootie Heath.

I would add that they have also licensed Blue Note to Music Matters Jazz and Analogue Productions (although I don’t know if those licenses have ceased and these companies are now just selling remaining inventory) so perhaps Universal doesn’t want another player in the mix.

From speaking to Scott it seems they made a mistake. It should have said 1963-1966 but they don’t plan to correct it. My guess is that’s the slick (if that’s the correct term) have already been printed.

Thanks. I talked to my dealer today and he said that, considering that my CD player was 20 years old, he said it was probably time for a new one and wouldn’t be surprised if it quit soon. He suggested either a DAC or a new player, either the CDS50 or the Rotel 1572.

Thanks Lon. I will look into the DAC. I’ve taken a look online and understand a little more about how an external DAC can improve the DAC that’s in the CD player.

I have a HDCD Rotel player. Will upgrading to a SACD player make any incremental difference for CDs that are non-SACD. I have an integrated amp, Arcam A75, if that makes any difference.

When I purchased my system (about 20 years ago; time flies), Lon was very helpful in helping me put it together with a dealer (who I still use).

It was from 2017 at the Jazz Standard. The two top songs for me are Too Damn Hot and Pilgrimage, with Alicia Olatuja.

The way it works is that to sell you have to give eBay your bank account info. Once you get paid, eBay will deposit the funds in your bank account. This usually takes place two or three days after you get paid.

The size is the problem unless they can think of a way to chop it down.
