On the testing question, my wife and I have been tested twice (once separately and the timing on results varied). We both took a test offered by Rite Aid and we had the results back in two days, I took one in July for a colonoscopy and, again, results were received in two days. She had one in July and didn’t receive the results for 14 days; useless. The run up to her last week was peculiar. Hopefully, it’s the exception to the general rule: she called her doctor, who said the hospital would call. The hospital called and said the testing center would call. She never received a call (despite calling the hospital several times) and it was at that point she had a test administered by one of these medical emergency clinics.

He only played in 65 games in 1962 and 1963 so you really can’t classify him in the player category but if you ask me who is the best manager in Mets history, it’s Gil, hands down. He helped transform this team into World Champions. Tom said that many people helped get him to the big leagues but it was Gil who taught him how to be a professional. The reverence in which he held Gil and the obvious love he had for him was the way we Mets fans felt about Gil. It was a tragedy when he died of a heart attack in 1972. It’s also a tragedy and makes me mad that he’s still not in the Hall of Fame.

Mets won 9-7 tonight for Seaver. J.D. Davis, who hit the game tying HR in the 9th, said it gave the Mets "a little more energy today, just to play for" Tom Seaver.

I have the second set of cds linked in the post by @bluesForBartok and frankly I don’t mind Symphony Sid’s announcement’s because it makes you feel like you’re there.

I wonder if we will ever find out the true story.

That set the team back for several years, and then when they got him back they left him unprotected. Considering that he won 31 games in 84 and 85, that move may have cost them two appearances in the World Series.
