  1. Hey Lon - is there a section on iTunes where you can see all the Verve Vault titles in one place or do you have to search by artist? I really hate the way iTunes navigates...
  2. That Chess box has been tempting me for a while now, though i've been holding off since i have both the Chess Rhythm & Roll box (which i love dearly) and the Chess Blues box (which i like a bit less). Yes, i know the import has more tracks, but does anyone know how the sound/notes compare?
  3. Ordered four more Mosaic Selects boxes today: Tolliver, Hill (finally!), Beirach/Liebman, and Curtis Amy...
  4. Pricing on iTunes is sometimes quite odd. They have Sun Ra's Outer Spaceways Incorporated available... for $35.99!
  5. Hmmm... I love Chambers' bowing. But then I typically dig bass solos of all kinds. Drum solos on the other hand...
  6. Really like the Chico Hamilton box. I could see the Dinah Washington being a relatively "worst" choice, though, especially if you don't already have her superior Mercury stuff. I was considering the Mosaic, but decided it wouldn't make sense unless i first had those Mercury boxes. Have since found five of the seven sets used.
  7. Exactly. The good news is that we've reached the point where everyone in the world can have their own website. But the bad news is that we've reached the point where everyone in the world can have their own website.
  8. Happy Birthday Bertrand!
  9. Took a passive listen to the first disc last night - while relaxing in the bath and reading a manuscript about zombies no less! - and quite enjoyed what i was hearing. Didn't recognize anything, of course (except for a couple of tunes), but the disc is splendid as a whole, with a consistency to it that reminded me of a label comp. Nice job, Mike - thanks again! More detailed comments to come...
  10. www.dimeadozen.org (or are we no longer allowed to post that here?)
  11. It's all moot anyway as the future belongs to Xenu...
  12. He'd do it, too!!! Would have been yesterday - 6/6/06. Those with horns get in free...
  13. Not bad at all. The in-laws were in town to watch the kids while my wife and i snuck off to catch Bruce Springsteen.
  14. I can rest easy now knowing that ducks will protect our planet from an alien attack. But i pray they don't get cocky and decide to come after us as well!
  15. Now I'm pissed off. So, Wild Wild West was one of my very favorite TV shows as a kid. It's finally coming out on DVD - today in fact - and I'm reading this comment on Amazon... I saw this was coming out from AARP magazine, man how time flies! I (Like the others) loved this show, it was mesmorizing. I worried about how Martin was every eposide, but he always emerged unscaved. I never buy DVDs, but this time..well..YESS!! Fuckin' AARP magazine!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Now there's a sport - or at least an athlete - that I can watch; not like those silly boys riding bicycles! Many thanks, guys. Yep, turning 44 on 666. Maybe I'll catch the Omen tonight...
  17. You seriously don't find that it gets in the way of enjoying the music? Not really. Like Greg I tune it out pretty easily. Guy Not a problem for me either. And i wouldn't even say that i "tune it out." For me, it's as much a part of Jarrett's style as, well, as his piano playing style. It's all emotion...
  18. Yep, And grown men (and women) "patting, throwing, and kicking around" musical instruments "are just as stupid..." Cheers, Shane Hmmm. Funny that we don't think less of Bird or Art Pepper or whomever because they were on junk... the steroids of their day. -_-
  19. Every time i see this thread title i think it's about a new record label. Do you think Mosaic could sell more copies if they changed their name to Good Sex Records?
  20. So did Lance finally admit to having stopped beating his wife? Seriously, I have so little interest in Lance Armstrong or anything having to do with a sport where grown men ride bicycles... but it does seem unfair to tarnish a man's reputation when no proof can be found (or apparently admitted to in a public forum ) against him.
  21. Almost as a lark, i included a FF track on my BFT disc and a lot of guys seemed surprised that they really dug it.
  22. Agreed!
  23. An even more impressive trailer... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIfUt5fMGoE'
  24. He would probably have better luck composing for 100 instruments that people actually like...
