  1. Good to hear you're still hanging in there, Jack!! gregmo
  2. One of the greatest of all classic film comedies
  3. What beautiful tone he had. Good album!! gregmo
  4. Ah, but what a lovely and delightful trail it is!! gregmo
  5. I'm just finishing up doing that. I've been at it off and on for a year. One LP in Volume 3 left! gregmo
  6. Dizzy's solo on "The Champ" is my all-time favorite. Nobody, but nobody, could soar over a big band like Dizzy. gregmo
  7. Sonny never gives a bad interview. Thanks for posting!
  8. The Classics cd only has four tracks with Johnny Richards. So, were there more, or was this just two 78s or what? gregmo
  9. Thanks from me also for that link. I really enjoyed reading the interview. It was astonishing what he could remember! gregmo
  10. I'm listening to disc V right now. Great set! gregmo
  11. Set #365 finally made its way across the country and arrived today. I'm listening to disc 1. One thing I hadn't thought of: Mosaic licensed the Telarc stuff from Concord Music Group. Is that the first time Mosaic has ever licensed anything from Concord? Does that mean it could theoretically get in to the Riverside/Fantasy/Prestige/Milestone vaults? Hope springs eternal!
  12. Happy, happy! Keep on keepin' on, Chuck!
  13. It escaped the clutches of the warehouse in Secaucus and scrambled all the way to Illinois. Will it get across the Mississippi? Will the Rockies hold it? Fans are on the edge of their seats! Actually, it's due next Tuesday, but I prefer the excitement of the race! gregmo
  14. "Technology is just a faster way of doing ignorant things." Sonny attributes the quote to Aldous Huxley. That's a keeper.
  15. Some friends from a travel group I went with turned me on to this one. I'm liking it so far.
  16. I have nothing against the Post Office, but I always choose UPS if I have the choice, which I did in this case. gregmo
  17. The last one was the Rosemary Clooney CBS Radio Sessions. The Ella set was before that. There have been sets devoted to Crosby, Sarah Vaughan, Mildred Bailey, Dinah Washington, Anita O'Day, Peggy Lee and June Christy, and the Four Freshmen, plus the Blues/R&B sets, so a number have been given over to vocalists. gregmo
  18. Well, I did get a shipping notice, but at last check, the set is still on the East Coast (in Secaucus, New Jersey, of all places), so it'll be a while. I ordered immediately after I saw the notice here on the board (like right then--opened a new window, went to the site and ordered), which I saw before I got the Mosaic email. If it's one thing the "new" Mosaic has taught us, it is that you better order it instantaneously if you want to be in the "first batch"! gregmo
  19. Still in a Fats Navarro mode:
