Just saw "Fly Me to the Moon." Clever and enjoyable rom-com. But it is a rom-com.

As I watched that vid of the James band with Buddy Rich, it struck me once again what a great trumpeter Harry James was. He had such great power and range. A box set of all of James's recordings with Rich (for Capitol and Verve, I think) would make for a great listen.

I'm coming to this discussion late (been on vacation). I think it's great news. The V-Discs have been reissued all over the place for years, and the Vanguard material deserves to be reissued in an organized way. There are at least two cds worth of Vanguard things by Jimmy Rushing alone. I assume those will be part of these new sets?

Enjoyed the finale to "Interview with a Vampire" last night. Cool ending.

Sooooo, went to see "Kinds of Kindness." I liked "Poor Things," but this one, not so much.

Me too. "The Searchers" is a case in point. I think Duke's character knows that this happy ending won't last, and that a young woman raised in a tribe won't be happy coming back. Of course, that may just be me, but I do love that great, great Western!

Loved him in so many movies, but for me, it's Oddball in Kelly's Heroes. He is such great fun in that!
