  1. Sorry to be so long in answering this (I've been away for a few days). I wasn't so much thinking of the Concord label itself as much as all the labels and their material that Concord owns: Prestige, Fantasy, Riverside, Limelight, Good Time, Contemporary, Milestone, Vanguard. The list goes on and on. We've often talked here about how nice it would be if Mosiac were able to mine that material.
  2. I caught that too! It would indeed be wonderful if Mosaic could dig into THAT treasure!!
  3. Ah, one of my favorite Columbia box sets from the LP era. It had/has great sound and was my major introduction to the First Herd. The Mosaic has replaced it in my listening, but I have a very soft place in my jazz heart for this one!
  4. Just getting into this one. Interesting concept!
  5. I saw that one. It's Scorsese and I particularly liked the ending, but I do wonder if there couldn't have been a bit more editing.
  6. Some good Bechet features on this one as well as the Dorsey brothers playing together and freed from the confines of their dance music big bands.
  7. Pee Wee Russell was an expressionist painter?! I kind of like the one on the right. Like all those nice box sets in back of the paintings too!
  8. I'm watching that one too--just starting season three.
  9. The anniversary got away from me too. Playing some Fats tonight!
  10. Haven't heard from you in a while, Chewy! Hope you're well!
  11. This one is a 3-disc set with some trombone by Miff Mole.
  12. Recently got the Condon Town Hall Concerts, but it's nice to break them up with some rare tracks from Nat.
  13. Yeah, it was like "Combat!" The Germans would all jump from behind rocks and trees so they could all get drilled by the heroes of the show. I often wondered what real vets of the war thought of that. I bet they *wished* the enemy would have done that!
