  1. You should check out the DVD release of this, lots of great pictures taken during the filming, Duke hanging out with the cast, etc. I think that was a really fun gig for him.
  2. Last night I took a trip down memory lane to 1984 or so: Saw Trouble last night at Emo's in Austin. Unfortunately the original singer is gone (drug problems)...and the new guy just doesn't quite cut it...but the band still sounds GREAT. One of the best two guitar tandems in hard rock...up there with Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden. (That photo is from around 1985). Sometimes it's good to revisit things like this, took me back many years and brought back plentiful memories, most good...some very painful...but it was a personally rewarding experience.
  3. The TRUTH! Now if I could just figure out how to actually accomplish it....
  4. I just went back and checked the Australia chart for my birthday: CCR - Up Around The Bend That helps heal the "Carpenters wound" a little bit. The British chart was an Elvis tune, so I did my best not to pay attention to that one either.
  5. If the store is doing it correctly there shouldn't be any residue or scuffs on the top side of the disc. I'm sure it also depends on the machine they are using. In the meantime I need to figure out how to add Hot Dog as a bonus track to all of Allen's discs......
  6. I used to work at a store that does this, it's a simple 3-step process. They grind off the very top layer of the disc, then buff it until it's shiny, then clean it off and it's done. Takes a few minutes per disc depending on how scratched up they are. Once complete you can't tell that anything was ever done.
  7. In The Court Of The Crimson King - An Observation By King Crimson (Atlantic SD 8245)
  8. My guess is that the CD remaster matches the UK version of the album. So it looks like the song not on the LP was "Alive and Well and Living In". While the song Inside is in a different position. Thanks for the info. My favorite tune on this album was always "To Cry You A Song".
  9. Theme song for the day on this album.
  10. Sorry if this was posted before, but it's kind of fun... This Day In Music Unfortunately on the day I was born the #1 song in the U.S. was : Close To You - The Carpenters
  11. I used to have this album on vinyl and I remember "Teacher" being on the album. The 2001 CD remaster has a slightly different track listing and Teacher is a bonus track. Problem is I can't quite figure out what song "wasn't" on the original US version of the album. CD track listing: 1. With You There To Help Me 2. Nothing To Say 3. Alive And Well And Living In 4. Son 5. For Michael Collins, Jeffrey & Me 6. To Cry You A Song 7. A Time For Everything? 8. Inside 9. Play In Time 10. Sossity; You're A Woman Bonus Tracks 11. Singing All Day 12. Witch's Promise 13. Just Trying To Be 14. Teacher (Original UK Mix)
  12. They just don't make commercials...or acid...like that anymore.
  13. I think they're just giving him crap since he "retired" and then changed his mind almost immediately. But in this case the Packers are being stupid...if he DOES come back, off one of his best seasons...he's liable to be playing at Lambeau AGAINST the Packers. He'd look interesting in Vikings purple...
  14. This will be interesting...he's most likely to end up in the same division if GB lets him loose (all the teams in that division need a quarterback).
  15. Everything must go...we're slashing prices so much they'll think we're INSANE!
  16. That is one of the coolest movies E-V-E-R!!!!!
  17. Any .wav editor will allow you to do that. It works just like copy/paste in a word processor. Copy the second file and paste it onto the end of the first track, then save. Voila.
  18. -your opinion
  19. Yes, it's my opinion...did I indicate it was anything OTHER than my opinion? Maybe instead of just replying with the 14 year old response "WHATEVER", you might elaborate your opinion.
  20. A Message by George Carlin: The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less. These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete... Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side. Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent. Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you. Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again. Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. George Carlin
