I don't think T.O. could mambo effectively....but Chad Johnson could!
-
I tend to listen to big band music on Sunday mornings, no idea why, but Ellington always sounds good. My fave Sunday album of all time? Gerry Mulligan-Paul Desmond Quartet. The ultimate in "cheerful" hipness.
-
So far we've talked about Bledsoe and T.O. being the problem...I don't buy it, the coaching staff should eat this one. Where is the offensive line coach? Hell...where is the friggin' weight trainer? You can't win ball games with a crap line...and the Cowboys have some good position players...but they aren't playing together. Bledsoe got pummeled on Sunday and it wasn't all his fault. It doesn't do a bit of good to have a "mega star" WR when the line can't keep the quarterback on his feet long enough to get the ball to the prick. I'm as sick to death of T.O. as anybody, but he was rightly frustrated on Sunday.

I haven't upgraded to any of these yet. It's much easier to control your spending when you're flat broke!
-
Yes, it's worth the upgrade. In comparison to the old CC title, the rhythm section just POPS on this one and the bass is much more audible and distinct. There are moments of obvious tape wear, but this is a small price to pay for a nice sounding reissue. Plus the old cover SUCKED!
-
Two impressions so far. Another Workout sounds ALOT better than the earlier CD version. The rhythm section is more distinct and the bass and drums are punchier. The Congregation has WAY too much treble. The stereo spread is nice, but the cymbals are just plain ridiculous. I think I'll be keeping my old Conn in this case.

Which Mosaic Are You Enjoying Right Now?
Shawn replied to Soulstation1's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
I'm on disc four of the Jackie McLean set, enjoying the last session w. DeJohnette. Next up is disc one of the Randy Weston, gotta here that Little Niles album. Gorgeous. -
This is one of my favorites. I try to ignore the stories...and just focus on the fact that he was a VERY talented man who left some great musi c for us to enjoy. Rest in Peace man.

I think she was quite good in Mean Girls and Freaky Friday, she was funny when she hosted the MTV movie awards. She seems to have some natural talent as an entertainer. Now she just needs to focus on doing films instead of being "tabloid goddess". The girl needs to eat something though...

Thanks Jim! Remember the first time I played Ed Thigpen's "Out Of The Storm" for you?
-
Thanks gang! I do believe there is a rum & coke calling my name....
-
You should experience the Gulf Coast right now...JEESH...heat index today was 114! Ugh
-
Happy Birthday! You are a great friend, an inspiration and my "adopted" brother. Here's hoping you have a wonderful day. Shawn

I know it's not "literature"...but Clive Cussler has been my favorite author since 1981. He's intelligent, he actually does what he rights about and his books are FUN!!! Man, what a great word...too bad us adults tend to forget what it really means.
-
Just in case you forgot how bad he really was!!!
Shawn replied to skeith's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
I wish Verve would reissue the Sonny Stitt album with Oscar Peterson, that one is a definite keeper. I used to have the old CD version but one of my ex-girlfriends snagged it.
