  1. I initially thought Dean Jones was in The Cat From Outer Space but when I looked up the film it was Ken Berry. So you're not the only one that confuses them.
  2. I saw him in a lot of Disney films growing up in the 70s. The Love Bug movies and Blackbeard's Ghost were particular favorites. That Darn Cat as well....
  3. New Riverside out tomorrow: Love, Fear and the Time Machine. I've heard a couple songs so far and I think it's going to be a lovely record.
  4. I didn't have a problem with the quality of the episodes or anything like that, I just realized that I would appreciate it more in a different headspace. I did that with Breaking Bad as well, started watching it and realized it wasn't going to click...I waited 2 years and then revisited and that's when I got hooked.
  5. Close To You by The Carpenters. Insert puking emoticon....
  6. I'll have to wait until Amazon Prime adds season 3 of Hannibal before I finish it. I watched about 4 episodes of the season but then realized I just wasn't in the mood for the series right now, by the time it comes out for streaming I'm hoping I'll be in a more receptive frame of mind.
  7. Not sure "slasher king" is a good description, he did a lot more than that in his career...and even the Nightmare movies aren't technically slasher films, they are a lot more inventive than that.
  8. Going to see this kind of music played live in a club (by a player under the age of 60) is not that common of an experience now. Let the young people enjoy themselves! Let the younger musicians have fun! That just might be the point to all this...you know...entertainment?
  9. I was also going to recommend Amoeba Records.
  10. He'll be getting his share of foot-longs over the next 5 years in prison...and he won't even have to pay $5 for them.
  11. Hermosa Beach El Matador State Beach, Malibu
  12. Billy & Mitch is my favorite lineup anyway. Looking forward to this release.
  13. Empyrean Views from the album I Heard You Listening by Echolyn.
  14. Ah! Yes, I remember that now. He just had such a great menacing screen presence, he would have made a great horror movie villain. I also remember him from those old Grey Poupon commercials...
  15. House of Cards: To Play The King (BBC) - Ian Richardson is wondrous...and I'm convinced he should have played a vampire at some point in his career.
  16. I'm going to actually watch the movie before proclaiming it a disaster. This whole cynical pre-reviewing (or ESP film criticism) of films based on no more information than short studio blurbs, casting notices and sometimes a teaser trailer seems to be rampant on the internet these days. Suddenly via social media there are millions of movie critics that can see into the future and write their reviews before seeing the film.
  17. Thanks guys! One of my old junior high school friends came to Los Angeles to hang out for my birthday week so I haven't had a chance to logon for a few days. We had a blast, he rented a Camaro and so we were cruising in style for the duration of his visit.
  18. Happy Birthday!
  19. Tiny Grimes. He said he successfully faked it for awhile after joining Art Tatum's band but was finally busted when Tatum confronted him with it.
  20. Never watched wrestling, but he made a great surrogate for an unavailable Kurt Russell in "They Live".
  21. Not surprisingly, Ted "cro-mag" Nugent has come out in defense of the dentist. Ted's response? "Whack 'em and stack 'em".
  22. One of my earliest memories was hearing Bill Cosby's "Wonderfulness" album, I loved it so much I played it over and over. Sadly, not sure I'll ever be able to revisit it now. I can usually separate the art from the artist...but I'm having a tough time here.
  23. I've watched the entire series a couple times now.
  24. The film is nice looking but the pacing is like watching the grass grow.
