I just found my copy of the Billy Mitchell, so this was my first listen; I rather enjoyed it (in addition to Thad Jones, it features Kenny Burrell and Richard Wyands). This morning, Raymond Scott and His Orchestra Plays (MGM ten inch), and Gems of Jazz Volume 4 (Coleman Hawkins, Red Allen, Benny Carter) (Decca ten inch).

I don't give up easily; I'll be sending another email in the next day or so.

So far, no reply at all to my request to order.

I enjoyed it and would recommend it as a worthy recording.

It didn't take long to realize I really like Tammy Scheffer's singing and her band.

I caught the last set by the Steve Davis Sextet Saturday night , and a fine set it was in the Jazz Messenger vein. Larry Willis was a semi-regular house pianist at the Caravan of Dreams in the mid-1980s, and he's still sounding as good as ever. Next week, I'm looking forward to the Brooklyn Underground festival for two nights.
