  1. Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! Among my many blessings are my wonderful friends on this board. Hard to believe it's been 7 years since I joined. Enjoying a few days off with friends in Colorado after finishing up a couple gigs, then back to Tally on Saturday.
  2. Let My Children Hear Music, my fav Ah Um Blues & Roots
  3. Tony passed away Sunday morning from complications related to his injuries. Rest in Peace, Tony.
  4. Me too. Big Happy, Birthday Al!
  5. I believe Mike Fahn (valve) and Andy Martin (slide) have done at least one recording together.
  6. I've actually spent a lot of money on music I was unaware of because of those threads, so I'd have to say I'm a fan, conn!
  7. The closing ceremonies were a little strange, but I did enjoy hearing Bob Costas get to say "the always enjoyable giant inflatable beaver".
  8. Happy Birthday Wes! Why hast thou forsaken us?
  9. Dude, the end has come and gone! I'm confused. Does this mean we're back at the beginning? Yes, and maybe they'll get the Buddy Bolden right this time.
  10. What he said.
  11. Lead on.......
  12. One thing that cracked me up- on the portion with all the interviews they apparently felt it necessary to supply Art Blakey with subtitles.
  13. How is that show, Lon? The premise seemed interesting, but does it deliver?
  14. He also appeared on this former AOTW.
  15. I'll have to give it a spin.
  16. Que Sun Ra, Sun Ra.
  17. One of my favorite weekend combinations.
  18. Also, someone should grab that "Best of Abba" compilation. Sweeeet.
  19. I'm guessing based on the date, but I'd say Chuck Andrus.
  20. I loves me some isorhythmic mo-tet!
  21. Jake w/Woody Bill Holman's great chart on After You've Gone. Soloists are Billy Hunt and Sal Nistico. And Jake swinging like a MF. Holy crap, what a Herd that was!
  22. Just heard about this. I got to know Jake through my connection w/Woody's band and had the opportunity to play with him on several occasions. A great swinging drummer and a very funny and kind man. I love the 60s Herd mostly because of Jake Hanna's playing. Another great one leaves us. RIP.
