  1. From BBC NEWS:
  2. Obviously the tapes for the 'Hear Ye!' album were not destroyed. They surfaced on an Atlantic CD back in 1989 with two previously unreleased tracks. That CD sounded much better than the original mono LP! Not really unusual for Atlantic vinyls!
  3. Ray Turner 'Star Dust' (Progressive) with Derek Smith, George Duvivier, Bobby Rosengarden
  4. I didn't know he was Nazi. Neither do I. Don't hear nazi tendencies in his playing (same for Walter Gieseking)! I wouldn't recognize a nazi tendencies in playing of anybody, a part Ted Nugent. I don't think he was accused by the Allies after the war. That's happend instead with Furtwangler. Maybe Karajan was nazi, A. Rubinstein never shook his hand again after the War. Neither did I!
  5. Too many Aaron Bell William Gottlieb Dodo Greene Ian Hammer Claude Luter
  6. Joyeux anniversaire, Dmitry Wishing you a great year with plenty of good vinyls and smokes!
  7. Hank Mobley Quintet 'Featuring Sonny Clark' (BN/Toshiba) with KD, Jimmy Rowser and Art Taylor
  8. They're the real thing! I am very happy with those (Jimmy Deuchar, Ian Hammer, Tubby Hayes, etc...) I have. I am planning to get more...

  10. Christiern is a big boy! I respect his decision but this is his home! Wish he was back home!

If you ever come to Paris, I'll let you have a look at that album cover! In full color The photo (probably US Air Force) is uncredited. Savoy had weird covers at the time!
  13. Earlier: Sidney Bechet/Lil Armstrong/Zutty Singleton 'New Orleans in Paris' (Vogue ten-incher) now: Zoot Sims 'Et John Eardley' (Ducretet-Thompson ten-incher)
  14. Feel free to start this. I'll contribute...
  15. Hey chewy, relax and enjoy! Chas' post went right up into my 1O-best Organissimo Forums posts list
  16. Don Cherry appears on one side of the LP. Kenny Dorham on the other one. Al Heath is the drummer on the Don Cherry tracks, Roy Haynes and Ed Blackwell are on drums on the KD tracks!
  17. I've got the Hootie blues
  18. My recollection of this is that the ESP discs came out first in Italy via the Base label. Then ZYX took over the ESP business. The deal was supposed to be pretty limited in time but ZYX just went at it for years!
  19. Go get 'Singin' In The Rain' and watch You'll never regret it!
  20. Nick Travis 'The Panic Is On' (RCA Victor) with Al Cohn, John Williams, etc...
  21. Dexter Gordon 'One Flight Up' (BN, DG, NY adress, mono)
  22. Where's Weizen? He's been looking for this album for a long time!
  23. Previous Roy DuNann appreciation thread!
  24. Another one to get. Bird played splendidly with that great Herman Herd. He was making a hometown appearance. Interesting Bird solo on 'Four Brothers'.
