  1. Horace Silver 'Silver's Serenade' (BN, mono, NY label)
  2. Uncool
  3. Clunky, you may have a hard time getting the remainder of the French RCA LP releases. The Centennial box added 5 alternates to the pre-1940 material that had not been unearthed when the vinyls were being produced. The Masters of Jazz series stopped at vol. 12 up to January 1931. The forthcoming Mosaic box will not include pre-1931 sides.
  4. Anybody knows if the bonus tracks added to this 'Complete Prestige' Japanese box are newly unearthed sides? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HA48E...4756415-1553602
  5. Hank Mobley 'The Flop' -_-
  6. Wow! More thanks to every wellwishers! It was a great start to the year
  7. Happy Birthday Have a great year! And more...
  8. The original copy I have bears the copyright year 1979!
  9. Thanks every one! Looks like a very good start to a New Year. Received bottles of hard-to-find wines and a Havana-based friend is showing up this weekend with a box of cigars! All this will surely contribute to shorten my life expectancy but will also provide much enjoyment to what remains of it
  10. Was about to purchase an item when I found out they were charging nearly €7 for shipping the disc! Dropped the deal. Can get these cheaper in Paris.
  11. Yes! But it looks pretty tame considering CT's various contributions. Hope the site will be richer soon!
  12. Tony Scott and the All Stars '52nd St. Scene' (Coral, mono) with Coleman Hawkins, PeeWee Russell, Joe Thomas, Al Cohn, George Wallington, etc...
  13. You should have gotten bot ! All those Niehaus Contemporaries are ageless beauties!
  14. Paul Bley 'Axis' (IAI)
  15. Then I should have bought the trumpet copy (near mint) I saw last time I visited the Princeton Record Exchange. It was priced at 44.99 or 49.99, can't remember for sure. But under $50!
  16. Not Stitt at the top but he was in a playing mood on that session!
  17. Thanks for the info, Dan! Lots of interesting albums there at very reasonable prices. The Hank Jones, Jimmy Rowles, Sonny Stitt, Budd Johnson are some that I would recommend. I'll need to have some of these shipped back to France where they come from!
  18. The Charles Tyler Ensemble (ESP)
  19. Very nice review in the New York Times today Wish I could make the trip

    Red Mitchell

  21. Happy Birthday, Daniel A Lots of good things for you!
  22. Now is your chance of getting this wonderful vocal album! One of my favorites! I included one track from it when I compiled my Blindfold Test (nr. 34). Looks like it's still considered French property and remains unissued enywhere else, except Japan! Managed to get a promo of this album. The disc came in one of those round metal boxes that were used to store film reels! Cool
  23. Lou Levy 'Touch of Class' (Dobre)
  24. $50 would be an OK price for a Mint copy but half that would be allright for the current state of the copy you describe. If it's an original it should have a Verve Records Inc. lettering at the bottom of the labels (if it's MGM letterings, it is not an original release and is worth less). And chewy is absolutely right!
