  1. Thanks, I never tire of Cleanhead and that group gets a definite
  2. I think you need to work in Sprockets here.
  3. Well it's good to hear that he's communicative, even briefly.
  4. Well folks as long as you feel better quickly, you know your immune system was primed to attack. I don't know nothing 'bout mine since I had no reaction. Could have been saline solution for all I know.
  5. Anyone communicated with him lately? I see it's a month since his last post, and he's been oddly silent on FB too. Hope his treatments aren't debilitating or his health taken a turn for the worse ...
  6. Wondering if anyone has a better way to get in touch with Marc Myers other than the contact email on his blog? Or do you know that's a good way? Reason I am asking is that I expect to go "live" with the Percy France Memorial website fairly soon and one of my targets for promotional efforts is definitely the Jazz Wax blog. I'd prefer not to email blind though I can certainly do that if necessary. As always, thanks in advance.
  7. Well I guess this went over like a lead balloon but I tell ya, if this were CGI, that shoe would get a huge laugh in the theater.
  8. Blythe Danner Donner Party Tila Tequila
  9. I just want to say that in this video, the shoe has perfect timing. (And since the victims are expected to live, I don't feel too bad making light of the video. Hopefully the asshole who is to blame and took off will be caught quickly and prosecuted.) https://nypost.com/2021/05/20/motorcyclist-rider-survive-horrific-hit-and-run-crash/
  10. Well, I was disappointed in his singing of this number on this CD but I thought he was much better the first time I heard him play this, on the Steeplechase live volume. That is a classic performance in all aspects - tenor, piano, vocal.
  11. Personally I prefer 'save the drama fo yo mama.'
  12. Red Sox second in league in BA at .263, Yanks at .227 (essentially tied in home runs). In the end, if it stays that way, will it matter? The Sox seem to have stocked the roster with power hitters yet are also hitting for a decent average. Let's just say I am not totally in love with the modern game but I'll keep watching as long as my teams are in the race.
  13. Yeah, the Rumble in the Jungle and the concert in Kenya that included BB King ... there were more details in the NYT obit.
  14. Junior Cook The Galloping Gourmet Bob Baffert
  15. Yes its helpful to be independently wealthy if you are going to operate an independent label focused on jazz. But I don't see the story as depressing ... he's committed to the music he's recorded, improving recordings that bugged him, and keeping it all in print. I've enjoyed Reservoir recordings. I admire the man behind it just as much.
  16. Not as old as Jim but I am +1. I can't believe that Bresna, who I am sure has a nice rig, could buy an "audiophile" pressing that plays like shit for at least one track.
  17. Indeed! And, it seems as though Click Repair is doing a nice, no-artifacts job with decrackle, too, so may not even spend that much time working on getting the tracks in listenable shape.
  18. Newest and possibly greatest acquisition this side of the Four Sounds Acetate. After something like 15 years of hoping to find a copy, I tried a "G+" copy from a seller in Denmark. Paid ... way too much for a "G+" record, but way, way less than their offering price. And now after just a seven day trip from Denmark to Florida, dealer is turning out tohave been very conservative in his grading. Not even sure now if I will bother with the kind offers I got as a result of this thread: That's Curtis Amy on tenor, if you didn't know ...
  19. Blue Meanie New Jack Jim Cornette
  20. He still fits comfortably in the type of person Dewar's was "profiling". Just check a google image search. https://www.google.com/search?q=%22dewar%27s+profiles%22&sxsrf=ALeKk02xnne5jTlF-ZObF1uoSyqsGBfR-Q:1621279329096&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=g5xWiYj2UAoM6M%252C3up6HqYBj7aMQM%252C_&vet=1&usg=AI4_-kTSftim8kr6atMDz4ZKfWJJ56oJfA&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjY2_eTuNHwAhVOd6wKHdzwAsUQ9QF6BAgWEAE&biw=1280&bih=560#imgrc=g5xWiYj2UAoM6M (That's gotta be the youngest photo of Jerry Orbach I've ever seen ... granted he was a major broadway star but that was pre-hollywood fame let alone Law & Order.)
  21. Somewhat interesting tracking situation ... I had an LP coming from Denmark, and scheduled for arrival today, a scant six days after shipping and absolutely astonishing for the present global situation. Yet, I joked to my wife that they hit the brakes too late and ended up dropping it off at West Palm Beach - a wee bit too far south. And yet. Since then it's remained in tracking status "Expected Delivery by Monday May 17" while its been successively scanned at Fort Myers, Sarasota, Tampa and Ybor City. And now it has left Ybor City which would mean next stop, Plant City. And still: Expected Delivery Monday. So is it possible Plant City will send out a special truck to deliver today, once they get it? I first expected two more days to get to me, and when I saw arrive Ybor City, I figured it wouldn't move again before the early morning hours, on the way to Plant City for regular delivery tomorrow. And yet - usually they have been much quicker to change to "en route - arriving late" status then leaving the "delivery today" summary on the tracking screen.
  22. No trouble here, and I just downloaded both again to make sure. PM me if you still have trouble and I'll help get them to you.
  23. Thanks you may be the best option, except for the fact that you're on the west coast IIRC. I'll be in touch, I am hopeful this will actually arrive on Monday which would be a remarkable six days from Denmark, would have to give major props to the postal services of the world for that.
  24. Starting at least 8 years ago, my wife and I had the option in Boca Raton of dinner (decent bar food) plus unlimited popcorn and love seats for the movie portion. This was one of the earliest adaptors of the "premium" seating - That was a nice place to go. (And nearly 40 years ago when I arrived for college in Tallahassee, there were not one but two theaters selling beer - not the same, but pretty cool at the time, and it stayed that way when I got grandfathered in to the the 19 year old drinking age.)
