  1. I'm sure someone has a copy of the late 1990s CD reissue with 12 bonus cuts not related to the original session .... if such a person could PM me I'd be highly appreciative. Thanks!
  2. Looks similar to Scandia Skies/Short Story on Steeplechase? Isn't Dragon kind of an iffy label? If its legit "new" I will definitely put on the want list.
  3. Each time I've asked someone at a brick and mortar what they are doing for RSD they say they are ordering everything but no guarantees they get it all.
  4. For Mosaic sets, yes I probably prefer 60s Hank overall. However his best work is the Workout - Soul Station etc albums which are not included. If you are truly a newbie that's where I would be starting.
  5. Record Store Day 25th Anniversary Lisa Loeb "Stay"? WTH is the world coming to? Not at all. Black Friday stuff is at least 3-4 years old, the first one I went out for was to get the Resonance Records issue of the Three Sounds at the Penthouse recordings.
  6. Does this apply to anyone here?
  7. I extrapolated out from my presumption you were 11 at the time. I guess I should have extrapolated from what, 16? Did she tell you that she was talking about the relationship in this unsolicited letter first, or did she hit you with "you know, JD Salinger told me I should run like hell to get away from you" after she got his response? The latter would get a big or . (All said in good fun, Jim.)
  8. A) you look pretty good for 51 in your profile photo and B) why was your girlfriend seeking relationship advice from JD Salinger? I don't know what's more unlikely, asking for it or actually receiving it. and finally C) Did she run?
  9. Perfect example of how Black & Blue is a discographical nightmare. This was issued on the Definitive series as Deep Purple, which I have. Only one extra track, "Claude of Mine". But then there is a Japanese reissue this year, with Ghost of a Chance, Candy, Solitude and Nearness of You as additional tracks. No clue where those tracks came from ... Anyway ... fine music!
  10. Sorry but that sucked as you don't see where each pitch actually ends up. Why did the guy loop it at that point?
  11. I hope MG returns to see this ... and that Baby Face article chewy posted which he should flip over.

    Al Cohn

Just discovered that there is a reissue program that includes this CD and ridiculously cheap at jazzmessengers: https://www.jazzmessengers.com/en/8976/al-cohn/rifftide
  13. Are these the first two B&Bs you've opened up? Would be nice to follow along and see just what 24 you narrowed it down to with Tommy's Jazz. (I recently picked up Volume 2 of the Panama Francis, seems to be vinyl only, never on CD. There are alternate takes from the latter session on the Definitive issue.)
  14. " When my subject is an album from the archive, full books on the performer’s life are usually available, as is a complete discography. For Davis, who died in 1991, the authoritative tome is his autobiography. " This would be the autobiography that was mostly invented by the author and poor transcription?
  15. Here are the tracks per discogs. No Fine and Dandy.
  16. Yeah but which Snell do they get, the Cy Young or this year's version? Rays downfall will be the bats. I think they lose in 4.
  17. Yeah I had the Jam Session issue and recently found the Gold Series issue to combine. Not even sure yet of overlap I thought there was one repeated tune? Or actually I think the Jam Session issue isn't just Wardell, so its more like 1 1/2 LPs from that date.
