  1. The 45 sessions! I forgot about those
  2. Definitely. He was all in.
  3. Yeesh this "AAA" stuff...the only way I'd be all-in on something like that is if I could ace a BFT 100% to name the digital vs analog tracks at all times without fail. There's just no way the majority of listeners can pick that out. What's funny is that obviously that kind of retro-fitting tech to meet customer demand inevitably produces complaints about the price - like every single time! AAA is a boutique marketing differentiator and it demands higher overhead (esp if you use celebrity mastering engineers) which of course filters to retail point of sale. If you want it, you gotta fork it over. That type of dissonance is wild to see happen in real time.
  4. Totally - and while "my favorite BN" is a moving target, this is one that I consistently enjoy. Did Earl Van Dyke record on any other BN albums? I think this was it... NP: Moved to this Pearson album that's one of the most uneven affairs I've ever heard. Listening via the Mosaic Select. These Andy Bey tunes...not my thing.
  5. Watched The Menu, a "horror-satire" that I think works for the most part even though it's well beyond believable. Most of my friends couldn't stand it, so it was right up my alley naturally.
  6. Via CD with all the bonus tracks - is there any other way to go with this album? One of my favorite BNs actually. Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish.
  7. Gregory Isaacs on a mid-80s Gussie Clarke production 👍
  8. Bowie time. What was the motivation/impetus behind the Moss Garden & Neukoln instrumentals? They seem to come out of nowhere.
  9. I dig Red Norvo's albums.
  10. Propaganda in action. Lopez Obrador initiated the process to nationalize Mexico's lithium while also organizing worldwide opposition to US-led sanctions against Cuba. Stories like this must be amplified to paint him as loco. 👍
  11. Rollins was a good idea so: Here's to the People
  12. Yeti was acquired years ago by Coleman or some other large company. Their specs were probably best in class for coolers and were aimed at sportsmen for hunting or fishing. The travel mugs were probably mostly for merch sales to promote the brand but definitely work well. FWIU, they lease those patents out to other manufacturers now, so some thermoses (?) are going to be basically the same product. What are yetis like $10-$20 anyway?
  13. Friday afternoons are perfect for some Michael Prophet.
  14. Haven't played this one in some time:
  15. 😥
  16. Were this & Nature Boy Jackie's last albums as leader or co/leader?
  17. Haden for #6? Cepeda for #7?
  18. And now Prob my fave late Milt Jackson album.
  19. Educated guesses? That leaves me out...but regardless, enjoyable BFT 👍
  20. Giuffre in Graz was too heady this AM for me so: Moved on to Caliman with this up next: Almost all of my Miles on Prestige comes from the Chronicles box set. Once they went in the digital library I assigned the tracks to the assocated albums. I dig that whole box. It was a great intro to Miles for me.
  21. I love these Abrams albums on Black Saint
  22. Blakey's Birdland vol. 2 followed up with This Miles Prestige set. So, some classics to start the AM off with.
  23. I find this album lives outside of most genres and sometimes I need that kind of listen. Great work.
  24. Future value gambit for Reservoir. It will be interesting to see how they invest in Sonny's music going forward.
  25. Giving it a first listen now and I'm impressed. I dig the production...nice compositions and thanks to an amazon review, the inspiration behind it sounds interesting. Thanks for the rec here 👍
