RTF is the album title. This is more laid back than RTF the band. I have it on CD but the 23-minute B side of Sometime Ago - La Fiesta must have been something on vinyl back in the day.
I didn't really like Frey's You Belong to the City back in the day but when I hear it now I definitely miss how 80s pop would feature sax playing and solos. Always an indicator of that decade.
I don't hate the Eagles or the solo efforts but I don't play them either. Nonoffensive radio fodder really. A friend of mine loathes them and it cracks me up
Sorry, thought it was my last guess for Track 3 but nope. Can't help myself to try at least one more time. Let's call it an encore. Anyway, Shorty Rogers? And if so, on Capitol or RCA?
Jeez. Others from that era are Clark Terry, Roy Eldridge, Idrees Sulieman, Fats Navarro and Red Rodney among a slew of others. I'm obviously not able to determine it by any familiarity with style.
Irrelevant to personal tastes, sure. But Samara Joy winning that Best New Artist Grammy was certainly a big deal for her and will/should open up additional doors of exposure for her.
The Grammys operate under their own time lines and genres. Plenty of past controversy over new artists/performances being weirdly recognized years later.
