  1. I was talking about the older 1997 mini LP MasterSound edition. There's no mentioning of remaster engineers so I can't tell where it's done but I suspect it's an all Japanese afair. The EU live in Tokyo is from before 2007 so it must be a clone of this version and not the later one.
  2. King: the Live in Tokyo is a clone of the Japanese edition. I believe with the black cd and MasterSound on it as well. So the remastering is the Japanese also.
  3. That's the spirit King Ubu!!! Long live the King! You know I was not aiming specifically at you I hope. My remark was just in general after reading all the postings in the thread.
  4. On the other hand you are very willing to get the OOP set's elsewhere (which costs money too I believe).
  5. This is all very good for you (the ones who got their product) but doesn't help Mosaic a single bit. If only you all would have ordered these set's a little earlier and at Mosaic so they would benefit from it (more than they do now)...........Let this be a wake-up call and please order all the other stuff you have on your wish lists at Mosaic before it's too late!!!!!
  6. Bob Belden??? The author claims he is Bob Boilen........ confused??/ You bet I am. Lon please explain (with sound clips if possible)!!!
  7. Weizen: The Japanese stereo box uses the EU pressed digipacks and manufacturing (only a Japanese OBI is added to make it a "Japanese" edition).
  8. Yes Cliff they do. Also a DVD is included with all the mini doc's on it.
  9. Clunky: did you mean the Stereo box otherwise it doesn't make sense........ Just received both boxes and I'm enjoying Please Me in mono right now!!!
  10. Adam: I've read somewhere the Mono versions are not going to be released as individual cd's. That's one reason the box is more expensive (no after sales on the individual items) and the fact it's pressed and manufactured in Japan might also give it a higher price (besides the very limited edition "quality" of this set).
  11. Hello Norm, good to have you aboard! It's actually quite complicated and it will need some trial and error to sort things out. The first RvG series originate from Japan. These so called JRvG's were issued in the mini LP format. Later on the US (and the rest of the world) got the "domestic" RvG series. Since a lot of people complained about the narrow stereo spread of many of the JRvG's Cuscuna asked RvG to redo some of them for the US market. Later on the JRvG's and the RvG's use the same masters (you can tell this from the remastering date which is given on both issues). The 1500 series from Japan you are refering to are 24 bit remastered in Japan and sound really good imo. There's some complaining about the loud'ish compression on these. Most people on this board (and elswhere) think the older Japanese TOCJ series sound best (the one with the LP number after the TOCJ prefix). These are hard to get nowadays but you should try to locate some to hear for yourself. The TOCJ-70xx series use the same US RvG remasters. Hope this helps........ Please keep on asking if you need more info. Cheers, Reinier
  12. Yes I'm buying both box sets (pre-ordered a long time ago)........
  13. Yep I did. Sounded great on the first run through. Need to listen to it again at home. It's mid-priced over here in good ol Europe (around 12 euro's) so it should be selling quite well over here.
  14. For those who prefer the old remasters......I'm selling my complete Japanese import Beatles collection on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...T#ht_500wt_1182
  15. The listing on the German seller JPC is removed and the box is not listed anymore......Did they listen to this forum and cancel the issue?
  16. 2 weeks further and still nothing.......please look a little harder on your cd shelves and sell me one......
  17. He's not on that tune. And as all the others have pointed out it's useless as regular music. Might be functional in elevators and airports though........
  18. The title says it all. In very good or better condition please. No cut outs or otherwise damaged copies. Cheers and thanks, Reinier bluebevervoorde@hotmail.com
  19. but she ain't.......I'm afraid. Well at least she can dance with Michael Jackson somewhere!
  20. How about the work of Lovano with Paul Motian and Bill Frisell? Not like Zorn but certainly more outside than his Blue Note works.
  21. Are you all sending $1 or so? I'll send some as well although I don't visit the board hardly anymore. Don't know why, just because I guess.......
  22. I believe the Japanese version is remastered (24 Bit if I remember correctly) so this might also be the case with the new US version. Pease do let us know!!!!
  23. Keep on hoping EMI will approve some more reissues but don't count on it. Business is shrinking by the minute and although BN reissues make at least some money they are likely to go the download route. For those who still question my words.....I spoke to MC in person last week.
  24. And of course he has nothing else to do...........
  25. it's ALL the EMI reissue series so RvG as well. Rudy will still do RvG's for Concord. There might be a september RvG release but nothing fixed and approved yet.
