The new one is suppose to be the best yet. A buddy of mine saw the Toronto premiere last Monday and said it was excellent...you'll walk away impressed apparently!
On a serious note...
I purchased for my girlfriend:
Chenelle Throw Blanket
Tickets to the opening night of "Hairspray" in Toronto
Philosophy Bath Products
Two new makeup bags
"Love Actually" Soundtrack
and various chocolates from Laura Secord. Man, she's high maintenance!
I might also add:
Freddie Roach "Down to Earth"
and Lou Donaldson "Here 'Tis", which features Baby Face Willette for the first time. This one grooves like crazy!
Belt Drive Manual, Studio Pro...plays like new, but platic cover lid has wear. Two Speed (45 rpm and 33 1/3 rpm). Paid $125 NEW; three years old, but played minimally.
$30. Paypal only, please. Add $15 for S/H.
WOW!! That's all I have to say...this CD, which combines his two albums on Jazzland smokes!! I would wholeheartedly recommend this disc to anyone who can grab it. Includes Junior Mance, Ray Barretto & Johnny Hammond.
Get it!
Paul,
I love that "Sweet Honey Bee" disc that you traded me! Pearson is very underrated in my opinion, but what I think really does it for me on his sessions is the presence of James Spaulding on Flute.
"Merry 'Ole Soul" was just reissued as a TOCJ I believe. Check Hiroshi Tanno, or Dustygroove.
My vote goes for either Grant Green's "Visions" TOCJ or Marlena Shaw's "Marlena" TOCJ as the rarest of Blue Note material that was released on CD (I could use Visions). Maybe even Hutcherson's "Live at Montreux" these days.
What is everyone's impression of Muhammad's two albums on Prestige? Or for that matter any of his work?
There's no thread for this guy, so I figured I would start one.
Larry Young...and it finally came true albeit with no box and a slightly damaged booklet.
I wonder if Mosaic has extra booklets and boxes. I paid $100 for it; less than $20/CD is good IMO.
Spotted this one today, and set it aside.
Anyone need this title?
Looking for TOCJ or OJC soul-jazz dates — particularly stuff by Earland and DOn Patterson.
Make a trade offer.
The Organ, The enite spectrum of the organ, and nothing but the Organ, so help me Patton!
My tastes are strictly confined to soul-jazz and some hardbop with maybe a touch of Miles fusion stuff.
Everything is great. No OBI.
Looking for Charles Earland "Black Talk", but I'm open to suggestions as long it's soul jazz. Also looking for the "Alligator Boogaloo" TOCJ.
