Disc 3 of the Stanley Turrentine Mosaic. This disc features some amazing playing by Shirley Scott. Up to now I didn't own anything where she's featured on. I guess that has to change in 2008! I'm really enjoying this set.

Disc 2 of the Stanley Turrentine Mosaic. I have to say I'm especially enjoying this disc because of Sonny Clark who sounds great, brother Tommy and Kenny Burrell who adds some real color to the festivities. I'm really diggin' this!

I convinced (Santa) my wife to buy me the Stanley Turrentine Mosaic box set. I'm really looking forward to playing this one when I get some downtime. I told her also that Mosaic's make great birthday and anniversary presents as well.

I just placed another order for ten discs and was shocked to find so many titles I had on my wish list not available. Bruce, I'll have the Land album "Harold In The Land Of Jazz" as part of another Concord shipment planned soon. Great to hear you think highly of this release. Also great to read the many positive thoughts here on the Counce sessions. Looks like I'm in good company. Shame that another fine musician died way too young. Same can be said for Carl Perkins.

I've managed to purchase a couple of his releases recently. You Get More Bounce and Landslide. Terrific stuff. I'm probably going to purchase Carl's Blues as well. Any other fans here who just LOVE this stuff?

Another person looking forward to hearing both Louis Smith sessions. So far my only exposure to Smith has been by the way of the Kenny Burrell release Blue Lights. That was reason enough to want to hear more. Also curious as to peoples thoughts on the Freddie Redd disc? I see Jackie McLean and Tina Brooks are on that session.

Considering how much money I've saved by people posting about specially priced items, plunking down a few bucks to support this forum is a non issue. Thanks Jim for all you've done in the past. The check is in the mail tomorrow.

Any thoughts on this DVD? It's been out there awhile and I've been meaning to purchase this.

Presently listening to Disc 1 of the Complete Capitol Fifties Jack Teagarden Sessions.

Thanks to all who spoke highly of "Sonny's Dream" (Birth Of The New Cool). I just finished listening to this recording for the very first time and was totally knocked out. The man is incredible on this release. I'm probably going to play this a few times over the coming days. One of the best releases I've purchased this year. I already own "This Is Criss" and look forward to seriously digging into the mans catalogue. Underated? Absolutely.

Hey Chicagoans and other global listeners. What are your thoughts about this radio station? I see there is some jazz programming featured especially on the weekends. Seems like a pretty decent station. Once again streaming over the net, happy to say.

A friend of mine in Montreal purchased that Jochum/Bruckner set for me from a Canadian retailer a few years back for around 30 bucks US. Needless to say I was quite happy.
