While I haven't been officially diagnosed, for the same reasons you've already site I would make a good candidate. Alot of times I find myself asking people to repeat things. I lay in bed at night to the sound of my ears ringing. Too much loud music over the yrs. without a doubt. Even with that said, do I ever think it would be a great idea to turn down the volume? Why of course not! When I'm home alone and the wife is out working, there's a good chance I'm cranking out the tunes here.

I have a couple of those albums and at some point today, play them in his memory. RIP Robert.

Marin couple calls for global orgasm for peace MARCUS WOHLSEN Associated Press SAN FRANCISCO - Two peace activists have planned a massive anti-war demonstration for the first day of winter. But they don't want you marching in the streets. They'd much rather you just stay home. The Global Orgasm for Peace was conceived by Donna Sheehan, 76, and Paul Reffell, 55, who live together on a houseboat along scenic Tomales Bay in Marin County, just north of San Francisco. Their immodest goal is for everyone in the world to have an orgasm on December 22 while focusing on world peace. "The orgasm gives out an incredible feeling of peace during it and after it," Reffell said on Sunday. "Your mind is like a blank. It's like a meditative state. And mass meditations have been shown to make a change." The couple are no strangers to sex and social activism. Sheehan, no relation to fellow Northern California anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan, brought together nearly 50 women in 2002 who stripped naked and spelled out the word "Peace" on a grassy hillside in Marin County. The stunt spawned a mini-movement called Baring Witness that led to similar unclothed demonstrations worldwide. The couple have studied evolutionary psychology and believe that war is mainly an outgrowth of men trying to impress potential mates, a case of "my missile is bigger than your missile," as Reffell put it. By promoting what they hope to be a synchronized global orgasm, they hope to get people to channel their sexual energy into something more positive. "Religion, science, art, medicine - you name any great accomplishment that the human race has made and none of it has stopped war and aggression," Sheehan said. "We thought, 'What's the next unbelievable, untested biological gift that we've all been given?' The orgasm." Interest in participating appears strong, according to the couple. They reported receiving 26,000 visitors a day to their Web site thanks to links from several blogs. Sheehan said she received "a soulful letter from a man in Istanbul" who lamented that because he lacked a partner, he couldn't take part. They assured him that there were no rules for when, where or how the orgasm was achieved, as long as it was on the given day, she said. "It's basically what ever turns you on," Reffell said. Participants can identify one another through the "secret signal," according to the Global Orgasm Web site, of a thumb and forefinger shaped to form the letter O. The one guideline Sheehan and Reffell do encourage everyone to follow is to practice safe sex and use birth control, citing overpopulation as a source of many of the world's woes. Reffell said the couple hopes to coordinate with the New Jersey-based Global Consciousness Project to measure the impact of the Global O. The experiment, directed by a Princeton University scientist, claims that the psychic energy of many people worldwide focusing on the same event, like Princess Diana's funeral or the Olympics, can create patterns in otherwise random lists of numbers generated by computers. Still, documenting the Global O's possible effects is not the main focus. "The dream is to have everyone in the world (take part)," Reffell said. Tom. I think I played JuJu more often than any other album last year. The title track is my least favorite cut. I burned a copy for the car without it. Hey GA! Just to let you know I received Wayne's JuJu yesterday and am listening to it right now. I hear you referring to the title cut. Reminds me much more of Coltrane on that track compared to the rest of the album. Not saying that's a bad thing of course. The album has a nice feel about it. Thanks for plugging this one. Next up in my queue is Jackie McLean's Right Now! Unless Donald Byrd's 'Royal Flush' or Hank Mobley's 'Another Workout' suddenly becomes available.

I just purchased the 'Teo' album recently and it introduced me to the playing of Teddy Charles. Really great album. Besides those already mentioned, does anyone have any thoughts on this release?

As a follow up. I received the Joe Gordon release today in the mail. Talk about fast! It looks like I'll be using these guys in the future without a doubt. Very, very happy here.

It's true though. I have a dog on the route who will immediately grab the mail once I begin to place it through the slot. He's pretty harmless though and I usually have a good laugh.

I hear what you're saying. Sometimes I think the P.O. is too rigid and needs to more accommodative of there customers. In your case, you now have more of a an incentive to use other carriers instead of the Post Office. We in turn lose out on your future business. Stupid stuff.

Since I work at the post office, but not behind the counter(City Carrier), why were the cd's returned in the first place? Insufficient postage? Just curious.

Interesting enough, Rolling Stone magaziine gives the new album 4 Stars. I had the opportunity to sample the tracks at Barnes and Noble and it doesn't sound half bad. I might take the plunge.

The brick and mortars still get the majority of my purchases. That said, I find myself being alot more price conscious these days knowing I can get better deals off the net. Example, I had Hank Mobley's "Another Workout" and Jackie McLean's "Right Now" in my hands 2 weeks ago in a local independent shop. They wanted 14.99 a piece. I declined walking out the door sadly empty handed.

I just found out today would have been Clifford's 76'th birthday. In honor of that, WKCR in New York is featuring nothing but Clifford Brown all day. Tune In Here!

For now I have Wayne Shorter's "Ju Ju" set aside for next month. Unfortunately the past several months, poor Wayne keeps getting bumped for a couple Jackie Mclean recordings. I have another Jackie release "Right Now" which could jump to the head of the line. Also there's Duke Pearson's Sweet Honey Bee, Horace Silver and the Jazz Messengers, Donald Byrd's "Byrd In Hand" just to name a few.
